Hi there. My older brother has a Kioti tractor with FEL, 4X4 that he purchased a little over 2 years ago. It has 74 hours on it. I think he said it has 30hp. He emailed me this morning stating that while operating this past Saturday the tractor simply stalled; he reached down and started it again only for it to stall again a very short time later. He nursed back to the garage where he parked it until he had time to look it over. His F-I-L used the tractor on Monday not knowing of the stalling issue. He used it for a short time (he did not quantify) when it suddenly stalled on him. He was able to nurse it back to the driveway but he was unable to get it into the garage because it would stall everytime he tried to move it. When my brother got home he was able to get it in the garage from the driveway but not until it stalled 3 more times in the 30 feet of travel distance. Any ideas what may be causing the problem? Thanks, Roger

Check and make sure it's not the kill switch. The linkage might be catching.
And of course, try some differant gas.

Sounds like fue delivery.Check/change/clean the fuel filter first. I would also add some Power Svc to the tank.
Btw, see "cracked fuel bowl" post below.......

Not to be a smart *****, but make sure it is diesel fuel not gas. My neighbor's son fueled up his Kubota BX23 and filled it with gas not diesel, he had nothing but problems until he drained the whole thing and cleaned out the filters and lines, but I believe his tractor would not even run to be able to stall.

Gravel13: Believe me, that was my first question to my brother. He laughed at first, then got a little serious and then checked the fuel tank - it's diesel. My brother is going to check all the electrical connections when he gets home from work this evening. It's probably the easiest and most definitely the cheapest thing to do.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I hope to keep you posted on the outcome. Roger

Just one more idea ! If for some reason the tank vent is pluged that would also cause stalling . An easy test is to see if it runs with the cap loose !

Only electrical that would matter on a diesel with regards to stalling would be a fuel solenoid. Gotta be air or fuel, with 74 hours would be shocked if compression unless of course there's a decompression knob pulled open.

Maybe fuel solenoid, if it's got one (my 3054xs does not).

Or could be fuel pump, not sure on that motor if there is an electric fuel pump prior to the high pressure injector or a mechanical pump, either way, that could cause what you're seeing.

Would be surprised to see a filter go clogged so quickly, unless someone put in junk diesel.

My two cents.

Okay - Heard from bro this morning - His Kioti is a CK30 Manual Transmission. Last evening he cleaned the battery posts nice and shiny. After he finished doing that he attempted to start the tractor, it started but stalled as soon as he pressed on the fuel pedal. He said he waited a couple of minutes before trying to start it but this time when he started it, it started but the engine rpm's kept increasing although he was not touching anything. He immediately shut it off to protect it from an over rev condition. He has no clue what to do now other than calling the dealer asking what the heck the problem is. The closest dealer is approx. 60 miles away. If anyone has any other suggestions, we are open to trying them. In the mean time, I'll keep everyone posted when the problem is resolved. Roger
