Default new Kioti DK45S at 50 hr service

I bought my 1st new tractor recently, a DK45S Kioti. I also got a new Bush Hog FEL and bucket.

After 53 hours of use, mostly brushogging, I serviced it myself.....

Just changed the trans/hydraulic oil & filter, the oil and oil filter, and the front axle oil.

Used genuine Kioti filters, Rotella 15w-40 motor oil, SuperTech 80/90 weight gear oil for front axle and also Supertech universal heavy duty tractor transmission/hydraulic oil.

Had very little trouble changing oil and filters. Ready to start mowing weeds and brush again!

It seems to be a great tractor! No complaints at all. Have a great local dealer nearby, in Vinita,OK.

Welcome Okiekioti, glad you are enjoying your new tractor. The 45 is a pretty good machine, have about 400 hrs on my 06 and so far so good. Like you I found it's a tractor that's easily serviced but it does take some time, doesn't it?
Good luck with your tractor, when you get the chance it would be great to see some pics of your Kioti at work.

Welcome! I'm really liking my DK45S also. No problems since I bought it last October. Like you, I also have a local dealer that is top notch! Enjoy and good luck with the new tractor.

Hey Okiekioti, glad to hear your DK is serving you well! I recently did my own 50 hr service on my DK45S, and the only difficult part was trying to find containers for all the waste oils . I've clocked 84 hours on it so far, and the only problem I have encountered is that I don't have enough implements . The unit can handle just about anything you can throw at it..... Good luck and be safe!

Congratulations: When I did the 50 hour on my DK35, it took me almost as long to get the trans filter off as it took me to do the rest of the service. I finally had to use a plumbers chain wrench on the filter to break it loose. The only problem since then has been getting the trans oil into the machine. It will take about 1/2 of it's allotment before it starts bubbling up through the oil being poured down the funnel and it takes forever after that to get the rest of the oil in.

My dealer is telling me first service is at 100 hours. Is this correct?

If you read your manual.. it will say 50 hours.

I have heard that some dealers don't thing it should be done at 50.

I would follow the factory recommendations, and keep all documentation for the service. Even if you do it yourself.

Thank you.

I think I will mention this to him. I would rather be safe than sorry and I suspect Kioti's warranty outline should be followed precisely.

50 hour maintenance checkoff is in my manual too ('07 CK30HST) and a good thing - new engines and drivetrains shed a lot of fine metal bits as they break in. Run a magnet through your hydraulic oil after changing it, the magnet is loaded. It's normal, and all the oils need changed to get it out of circulation. 50 hrs is the most importantest :~)

(Is that a word?)
