My Kioti has always been a bit reluctant to shift from low to high range. As of today, it is stuck in low and will not budge. The tractor has all of 150 hours on it and everything else shifting wise works well. Any suggestions?

Follow the linkage back to the transmission and lubricate all the moving parts, especially where the linkage enters the transmission.

Thanks for the suggestion. Man, I hope its that simple! Any other ideas?

My Dk40 had that problem. My tractor has a creeper gear so I have two levers. The levers are so long that they have too much spring in them.
I noticed that on the optional gear lever Kioti had welded a little stifftener to the lever so I did the same to the hi-lo lever and it shifts like a charm. That was two years ago and it still works great.
Have someone move the lever while you observe it from below,if you see it flexing that is where you want to ad a little backbone to the lever....Mike.

It has always felt a little 'rubberry' even when it worked. Interesting. Thanks.

I've found these things help shifting on my ck30:

1. press down hard on brakes when shifting

2. raise and lower FEL immediately before trying to shift, or while shifting

And, cause it happened recently, the opposite sort of problem, shift lever didn't do anything, just moved up and down with no restriction! Roll pin at bottom of shift lever was just about all the way out, it wasn't moving the transmission lever.

Is the tractor CK35 or a DK35?

Don

He has 150hrs on it and states that "always been a bit reluctant" so I'm guessing the tractor is more than a year old and therefore it is the older style DK35.

Spraying lithium grease on the selector linkage really helped! It now shifts a great deal better. If only the 4wd selector worked as well! It still takes a lot of effort to engage or disengage it and lubricating it didn't make any difference. By the way mine is a DK 35. Thanks.

Thanks for stoppin' by and letting us know how it's going.

I would try WD40 or PB Blaster where the linkage passes through the transmission wall. I'm not sure if the lithium grease will penetrate along the sides of the shaft as it passes through into the transmission. Lift the front tires off the ground while engaging the 4wd and see if that helps.
