I know what happened even though i didn't know that it was possible. I was grubbing out a possible house site(wife still is undecided{sigh}) and i had the box blade down & tilted slightly forward. I pushed some brush into a small creek bed & up the other side. I forgot to raise the box & it caught as the front of the tractor went up the bank. I reached down & moved the top link lever & the box came all the way up, then flipped on end smashing into my tail lights & jamming in that position. The top link, caught in the bind, bent. Drove it back to the house while listening to every "shift" as it grated on the tail lights.
It was interesting trying to get it un-clustered...removing pins, jumping back as the 7' box slammed into the ground.

New tail light assemblys- $140
Top link- still waiting for a $
Learning experience- not priceless because i haven't figured out how to keep this from happening again:mad:

So, when i get it all back together, i am going to weld something somewhere to prevent further embarrassment:cool:

Pic's for your enjoyment:

Wow.
It must have caught something pretty hard.
I'm still trying to figure out how it flipped up that high with a toplink attached.

Yow ! Thanks for the pictures, but i can't say theres any enjoyment in looking at them. I'm also puzzled at how the BB flipped up that far. At least it wasn't worse?

Wow! That's pretty interesting. Looks like the cylinder just couldn't handle it. How's the rest of the 3 PH? Did the box scraper linkages also get damaged?

Not sure how you'd prevent it (other than don't do that no mo). Maybe a heavier top cylinder.

No, no damage to the 3 point or the BB....at least none that i could find. My dealer has seen this with a manual top link, i am first with a crumpled hyd link:(.

Yikes! Bummer. On the positive side (Yes I am one of those annoying "on the positive side guys"), no major damage.

Nice looking place you have there.

Well if thats all the damage you did, none to tractor, looks like you are lucky, you need to put same brand hydro top link back on,it coulda saved you from worse.

Oh yeah, forgot to say,go rent you a dozer.

Thats a good little dozer,I used to try and run one of them about 25-30 years ago,the word here was try.

I have not managed to flip up the boxblade as dramatically but I did manage, in a similar fashion, to put a slight bend in my hydraulic toplink while using the boxblade and backing into an unseen but large rock. Luckily for me the toplink still works and I'm the only one who notices the asymmetry.

The stealth rock was dug out of it's hole, severely punished, and then waterboarded (dumped into the ocean). That'll teach it.
