DK35 and FEL lifting power

Have a DK35 with the LK1450 FEL. I guess I was thinking it would be possible to lift the front of the tractor off the ground with the loader. Not the case......normal? I suppose considering the lift capacity is around 1300lbs and the tractor is 3500lbs+ it would make sense to not be able to do this.

Not normal. I have the exact same setup and I can definitely get the front end off the ground. I don’t make it a habit but I’m sometimes not the smoothest FEL operator (getting better) and things happen.

If it’s mechanical, I don’t know enough about the tractor, FEL, or hydraulics to help much. There are some dealers on TBN that might be able to help.

I’m not sure how familiar you are with the loader but in float mode the bucket doesn’t push down.

you should be able to lift the front up at least a little, did you try pushing the lever a little easier,maybe putting the donw-pressure to it slowly and see what happens.might also tip the buket(roll it forward)before you put it on the ground.just a couple of options-report back now-ya hear !!

Ok, reporting back now....ya-all listen up!!! Let the tractor warm up, RPMs at near PTO level. Positioned the bucket so that is was at it's nearly lowest level (dumping position). Slowly lower it down to the ground and the front of the tractor did move slightly upward...maybe 1-2 inches. Not off the ground at all though. I still had 4-5 inches left on the hydraulic cylinders that raise and lower the FEL. Seems as though there is a cutoff/relief presure point. Maybe to keep from blowing the hydraulic lines?

With my bucket in dump position on my DK 35,I can easily lift the front off the ground(even at idle speed).

I bet that you had the brakes on! If you did, you are asking your loader to not only raise the front of the tractor, but also drag the whole tractor forward. Try lifting the front with the brakes off. I bet that it will lift it that way.

YOUR PRESSURE MIGHT BE SET TO LOW
YOU SHOULD PUT GUAGE ON AND SET AROUND 1600PSI
THE VALUE IS LOCATOR ON TOP OF LOADER VALVE
VERY SIMPLE TO DO IF HAVE GUAGE.

kodiac, you have a pressure problem. my loader will make my DK35 fly. i used my fel once to get out of a hole the front of my dk dropped into. so i know for sure the fel will lift the tractor off the ground. i don't know of a tractor that wouldn't be able to do it. i test drove a lk3054 and it had no problem lifting the front of the tractor off the ground.

Did a little more experimenting this weekend. I can occassionally get the front tires off the ground...maybe an inch, but I definately have more to go on the hydraulic cyclinders....3-4 inches. When I can get them off this "little" bit is if the tractor is on level ground. I also discovered I cannot lift a bucket of dirt. Checked hydraulic fliud which looks ok. Must be this pressure adjustment. The loader manual mentions it, something about 2300 psi. (Relief valve setting, loader control valve...2300 psi). It does not however explain how one checks or makes the adjustment.

Make sure you're not pushing it into the "float" position.
