When you say recent batch of solenoids does that mean tractors manufactured in 2006? Did he say what range of years/models this involved.

thanks
Well my tractor was manufactured in 2010 and I purchased it in March 2011. Can't say how long the replacement solenoids, that were also faulty, were sitting in storage. Also not sure what models might have had these faulty solenoids. Seems like your solenoid setup with the plastic guide differs from mine so get the good advice on removing the solenoid. All the best.

Murphy: Does your 35-45 manual indicate which model years or serial numbers are covered?

I got mine from my dealer, what do you want to know?

could you look up stop solenoid (SS) removal for the dk45s and see what it says if anything about the SS plastic guide oranything about removal of the manual stop lever before remove SS .

thanks much appreciated

I take that back. In the OEM parts pages, applicable serial numbers are indicated in parenthesis.

i can only hope there is a correct manual for our tractors.
so parts oem number EC44-00209- would indicate 2005 models and up with serial #C44 -00000 to C44-00209? Correct or no?

According to section 1.2 of the EX manual, The first character is the year built (0-3 for 2000-2003, D,E,F for 2004, 2005, 2006, etc.), the next three characters are the model number, and the rest is the serial number. In your example that would be a 2005 model C44, sequence number 00209. Mine is FC44xxxxx.

the IP replacement i helped with on that DK45 .... the IP we removed is made by Bosch.. the replacement was made by Bosch

Well, those MBZ cars/IPs are now 20-35 years old. I've read about quality problems with recent Bosch injectors. I hear that much of their stuff gets subbed to low bidders in Asia these days. I guess the mighty Robert Bosch ain't what it was. But at one time they knew how to make bullet-proof diesel IPs.

thanks much appreciated

step 1, Remove The idle adjusting bolt, fuel injection pump, and oil filter flange.

step 2, Remove the manual stoplever cover.

step 3, Remove the stop solenoid. Becarefull not to drop the stop solenoid guide.

step 4, Remove the governor spring using a hook after removing throttle cover.

The governor spring can also beremoved by dis engaging it from the fork lever and then removing it engaged with the throttle lever.

Hope this helps.

The book was printed in 08

Thanks. That's must be the manual for our 2006 DK45S tractors. The DK 35-50 manual on the Australian site is dated 2003. My paper DK45S manual and the DK451 manual on the Australian site are both dated Nov 2004. So now I just need to find the right paper manual. Any recommendations on how? Maybe I should/can call MIE or LaVoie?
