Just finished the 50 hour oil @ 59 hours. The oil coming out was the same color as
the stuff going in--light tan. No soot - no discoloration. On my Kubota, it was black
after about 5 hours on the clock. Is this common?? I was expecting maybe a little
MORE discoloration due to the newness and the fact that the rings had to set, etc.
My serial # begins with an M. Could this be a newer Tier engine?

I don't know about your bota but multi weight oils usually discolor fast. What oil you using now?

How do you like the Kioti compared to your Bota? Check the color of this oil after ten hours.

Break in oil is usually non detergent and will not darken as quickly.

The factory oil would be non-synthetic; and if you're not seeing a lot of evidence of break-in particulate matter that is not necessarily a bad thing. I seem to remember thinking the same when I drained mine the first time too.
Welcome to TBN and don't forget to add the Kioti to your avatar sig!
