fan belt CK 25 Kioti

Its time I replaced the fan belt on my CK I just had a quick look;( tractor outside and raining) and I didn't have a light. Do I have to remove rad to change,it looks like a very tight spot to me,or there any special tricks? any ideas greatly accepted...Thanks..

Ny last tractor the belt was 25 years old and still good are you sure it needs replacing?

yep it sure does ,there is no adg. left and over 1/2 inch of slack,so its slipping squealing all the time.

Loosen the alternator and push it up so you can slip the belt off there.
Manoeuvre the belt so it drops off the crankshaft pulley.
You now have the belt free but around the water-pump pulley?
Press the belt through the fan between two adjacent blades, hold it there towards the radiator in the cavity and rotate the fan by hand - 'Walk' the belt around as the fan is turned and the belt will disengage as the fan comes around the full 360 deg.

Replacement. Slip the new belt over one fan blade. 'Walk' it around and feed it onto the fan pulley.
Engage crankshaft pulley.
Fit over Alt'r pulley. adjust and secure the alternator. Check tension after 5 hrs running and again after 10. Adjust as necessary.

You will understand my term "Walk" as you work the belt around. Let the fan take the belt off itself rather than you trying to work the belt around each blade with the fan stationary.

**Perform all this work with the engine 'Off' and the key removed.**

Spanner has it right. You can take off and replace pretty easily. Just a bit of finesse getting it over the fan blade. Should take about 10 minutes.

Thanks guys,I will get at it when this **** rain stops; I just had a quick look yesterday, i noticed there is a splinted shaft coming off the crankshaft pulley is that going to cause any issues? I couldn't see the end of the shaft didn't have a light with me.
