Default LK3054XS Steering Problem

Has anyone determined exactly what has been causing the steering failures. My new (20+ hours) LK3054XS has developed the same problem as discussed before, the wheel just spins for any where from 3/4 to 2 revolutions before the wheels respond. Is the fix to replace the steering cylinders as was the case with the Kubotas? I am getting ready to call my dealer and would like to be as informed as possible before so. Any info would be appreciated.

If anyone is interested, I called my dealer today about the steering problem. He said that he had been informed that there was a problem with the steering box and Kioti has informed dealers to swap it out. He will have to order it, so once again, if anyone is interested I will continue to update as the process procedes.

When they do get you a new one, make sure that it is not one that is coming off the shelf. The steering unit has to be one that comes from korea. It does not completely fix the problem but you will notice a huge difference once it is installed. With the correct steering unit, the tractor will respond much better. If you know the tractor, you will notice the new unit will take less turns of the wheel to go from stop to stop. (left to right) The old unit takes about 4 1/4 turns and the new one takes about 3 1/2. But the new unit will not fix the problem. The main problem is the return to the tank. The return is currently on the top of the rear trans case. If you notice, the suction is just below it. What is happening is the oil is becoming foamy and getting all the foam back into the sytem. I feal that if they moved the retun to a lower spot or another location, it would greatly help the problem.

Thanks for the information. My dealer has it now to replace the box, it has taken a very long time to get the parts and my dealer has stated that Kioti recommends to not use the tractor at all until the repair is made. It will be interesting to see how much difference it makes. I will not be very happy if it does solve the problem. A tractor with any type of steering malfunction is not safe, period.
