I Will Never Take My Loader Off Again!!!!!!

I'm no engineer but the people who designed the off/on for the 451 loaders aren't either. We (my wife and I) spent over an hour trying to take it off, she on one side, I on the other, working those darn pins until the stars alligned and very reluctantly they came loose. Yesterday I decided to put the loader on again and I can't tell you how long I fooled with the hydraulic hoses to hook them up. Very hard to reach under the cab and put any pressure on them and then such a tight fit and so close together that Houdini would have had a tough time with that setup. I finally got the hoses on this morning and now the pins won't go in, almost, but that doesn't count in this game.
This is NOT my first loader tractor, the previous one I could take off in five minutes, pull a lever back, retract the loader arms, remove the hoses and back away. I should have taken Donnie's advice when he told me not to let the dealer leave without having him show me how to remove the loader but if that was the case I'm afraid the dealer might still be here!!!

I know where you are coming from. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] I tell you what I did, I took a grinder to the end of the pins and made them just a little bit more chamfered on the ends. Grease the pins and the holes and put them in very easily then. I have not tried to take them out since, but I do notice the pins seem to move more freely now in the holes while using the loader. My loader pins and holes still had the paint inside as well. I sanded all that off as well. I agree, the design leaves alot to be desired.

If the dealer is really nice they will grind those holes when they put the loader on.... We grind out all the paint and then grease all the pins before we put them in. I don't let my guys put them in with more than a rubber mallet. I have had several transfered tractors that look like the dealer had beat them in with a sledge and they were next to near impossible to remove...

Thats a good idea. That grease and removing paint helps out alot. My 45S was one of the first ones delivered. The loader was installed by Kioti. The dealer never installed mine. I had to beat my pins out. Like I said, the pins look like they will come out easy now. When the loader is flat on the ground I can spin the pins around by hand. Never have any use to take it off anymore though. When I start mowing or dragging logs out of the woods I will take it off then.

Thanks for the advice guys, I should have read these suggestions before I took a big hammer to those pins. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img] They went in, very unwillingly, but they are in and I probably will never be able to get them out again. If I am able to get them out I will take my Dremel tool to the inside of those holes and then grease the pins.
