Nothing but number 1 fuel? Your manual calls for #2 unless you have some extreme weather.
Most mobile 1 is designed for gas engines, I use the M1 5w-30 in my pickup. Mobile's sister company delvac makes diesel specific synthetic. As long as your chosen oil meets the manuals spec for diesel engines and is the right viscosity then it will be good.

I was told by two different diesel mechanics to stay away from synthetic oil for my 30 hst for various reasons. Am getting ready to do my 200 hr change I buy all my oil at Tractor Supply. Just dont do what I did on my 50hr change was to add to much oil, just follow the book and dont over think.

If you're going synthetic then go for one that started it's life only making industrial oils for motors that run wide-open on startup,genset,etc.......The consumer version of it came about by the mechanics of these motors looking for something to protect their own vehicles. The bad press that synthetic oil get's is just myth for the most part. I agree with Woodbeef, go with a oil manufacturer that makes industrial lubricants and specializes in agricultural equipment lile Royal Purple for a full synthetic or Texas Refinery Corp. makes a excellent blend oil with a extremely high TBN.
DO NOT USE MOBIL 1 IN A DIESEL. If you must use Mobil oil the diesel oil that they make for diesels that is synthetic is DELVAC. |

Check your manual, i think it calls for CD or CF rating. The Mobile 1 doesn't have this , but the Valvoline did, so that is what i just put in my CK30. It was $35 bucks for 6 quarts......ouch!

This is what I am putting in my CK20 next weekend. I am located out in the High Desert of California. Not very cold in the winter, seldom below freezing for very long, but it gets plenty HOT during the summer. Any problems with this selection?

Sandlot,
I've used Mobil Delvac 1300 in my CK25 for all of my 3 oil changes I've performed. Although it has been great, I'm considering here soon on my 4th oil change of switching to Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 to see how it performs.
