Default Kioti ck20 pedal linkage broken, have questions?

Just below my hst pedal is a rotateing knuckle, the knuckle has a piece of steel that comes off the bottom that allows front to rear pivoting which links to the hydros for forward and reverse. I was lubricateing the linkage as the tractor wanted to continue forward or reverse rather then returning to neutral. In the process of working the pedal back and forth by hand, the piece of flat stock on the bottom of that knuckle broke off! Now the pedal will flow freely front to back. I need my tractor! It looks like I might be able to weld this piece if I can get it apart. It looks like a cotter pin holds it on the bottom, but I can not tell how to separate it at the knuckle below the hst pedal? Help, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It seems at just over 200 hours the tractor is going to heck. The loader joystick broke at one of the cheap plastic detent balls. it works but the lever just flops forward and to the side. The rear hydro control will not stay in the forward or rear position, so I doubt it is a detent as what is the likelyhood of both going at the same time, so I don't have a clue what it is. I really don't have time for down time until December and this latest problem is killing me.

Help!

Not sure if this applies, but there was a problem where the pedal gets really tough to move back and fourth (especially on machines stored outside) where Kioti has a different bushing to to replace the old one on the HST pedal. Perhaps that has something to do w/ it... On my new machine the dealer determined it had the old bushing and replaced it before delivering the tractor. I understand the tractor has to be cracked in half to make the change (lots of work). They did it since they didn't want the tractor coming back however I had the problem of HST oil coming out of the dipstick tube in a geyser as high as the dashboard... after 23 hours on the tractor. Dealer had to come get it to fix it...

My loader joystick has been OK... but I'm leary about it failing down the road... hopefully before the 4 year warranty is up...

Nothing to lose by trying to weld it. I would use the wet rag for protection and a mig welder to weld a fish plate to the cracked area and not just connect the crack. Find a piece of flat bar of similar thickness and width to the broken piece and clamp it in place. Then tack, then connect the tacks.

This work is under the deck and the potential ugliness on theis replacable part is a minor inconvenience.

I would then try and order a replacement part. By buying the replacement part you insure that your weld will last forever and that the replacement part will simply sit on your shelf. If you don't order the replacement then you can be sure that the weld will break at the worst possible time and leave you stranded.

I hope you guys in the states have better luck with Kioti than me,I had a pto shaft break, kioti Uk THOUGHT IT WAS OK FOR ME TO WAIT 8 WEEKS FOR PARTS AND REPAIR,instead of sending the parts from korea by TNT they thought it acceptable for me to wait whilst the parts were shipped over in a container with other kioti stuff..

No way was I waiting that long! now here comes the 'world wide' funny bit,Kioti korea, told kioti UK you WILL have to wait as they [kioti korea] are 4-5 weeks behind on these parts!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a very happy Kioti customer,I hope you guys with break down problems fair better than me..

Take the floorboard off and everything else you can, I believe the piece you are talking about is held on with a roll pin.
If it's the piece I'm thinking you are talking about.
Then you can weld it on a table etc.
It makes it easier if you have a parts diagram or number so we know exactly what part it is.

Thanks fellas!

All your posts were appreciated and very helpful. I layed under the tractor this morning in the dark with a flashlight trying to figure out how to get the pedal off. It would have been a difficult weld "for me" due to the having to weld up and down. The paint seems very thick, and I was afraid with my mig I may not get a decent weld. The other problems were how congested the area was, and trying not to burn thought the electrical and hydro lines in the area. As was mentioned you need to pull the floor board off to get to the pin you need to drive out. Seemed like too much work, and I had three workers waiting on me.

I dropped it off at a local dealer and by two they called telling me everything was fixed! Now that was awesome service. I was afraid they would hastle me, but it was could not have been more wrong. They did take the pedal off and weld it, fixed the loader joystick detents, and adjusted the rear remote so that it will grab on the detent properly. I am very happy!

I do find there to be some weaknesses in the tractor, but overall I love the little beast. I really question the quality of the steel when piece of steel breaks so easy, especially when it is not weight bearing. I also think the loader control is flimsy and weak, and in need of updateing. I do have to lubricate my pedal and linkage offten or it will start to get stiff. A small hole was drilled in the pivoting point so you can get some penatrating oil in it, and this has helped, however this poor design may have been why my pedal broke. I am sure all tractors have issues, but coming up with better designs and installing them before a problem arises would suit me better.

Anyway I am so happy to have the little beast home with me where she belongs!

Thanks again for your help my Kioti bretheren!

The pivot on HST has been updated.
The loader pivots are the same as the ones alot of other brands use....
The difference is that the stick is right where you can bump it easily.
