Price Check New 3940 GST price

Looking to buy New 3940 GST or 4240 GST R4's, Kubota Loader 724 or 854 (i think on 4240), Quick tatch, standard bucket, 36" forks, deluxe sunshade, 74" rear snowblower, manual rotator, and one rear valve with lever.

List price is as follows for 3940 GST

$21,634 Tractor w/ Tires
$3544 Loader
$381 QA
$597 Standard Bucket

$2803 Snowblower
$138 Manual rotator
$634 Rear valve with lever

$31,159 total list, 4240 GST configured the same would be $33090

What would be a great no trade price on the package? 82% of that, 84%, 86% ?
Also, will either or both of these loaders (724 854) pick a ton (2000lb) of wood pellets off the back of a truck to the ground, provided I have enough ballast)? My 4300 JD w/430 loader will only do about 1200 lbs on a pallet. Thanks all

I looked at both these tractors and decided on the 4240 for a couple of reasons.
First because of the LA854 (1874 # lift capacity).
Second because I figured I'd do the same thing with either tractor but a few more HP should make the tractor happier in the long run.
The good people on TBN convinced me to step up to the 4240 for less than 2K.
I'm glad I did. I have yet to find the limits of this tractor in 20 hours of pushing large piles of brush and trees up 20+ degree slopes. Its a beast!

In physical size the L3940 and L4240 are (I believe) the same. The L3940 is bigger than the L3240 and L3540.

I think that you get your best bag for the buck with the L4240. It will do everything the L3940 will and more. I'd just do it for the bigger capacity loader. Given the physical dimensions of the machines are the same, this makes it a no brainer for me.

All of that said, I don't know whether even the L4240's larger loader will lift 2000 lb straight. Believe that the lift capacity is close to that but it is at the pivot pins. So if you roll-back to ensure the weight is on the pivot pins then probably. If I was regularly attempting to lift stuff like that I'd want a bigger tractor - perhaps a utility machine.

The 3940 is a 3 cly where as the 4240 is a 4 cly. I now have a 3830 GST but would like to move up to a 4740 GST.

Deerlope - that is not correct. The L3240 and L3540 have 3 cylinder engines but the L3940 has a 4 cylinder like the L4240.

I ordered a L4240GST today. Just doesn't make sense for around two Grand difference to not get the L4240. To answer your question, I was quoted $21880 for the L3940GST that included: loader with heavy duty roundback QA bucket and bolt on cutting edge. Do the math on what I will be paying for the L4240.

Deerlope - that is not correct. The L3240 and L3540 have 3 cylinder engines but the L3940 has a 4 cylinder like the L4240.

That seems like a very good price. I doubt I'll get that in upstate NY.
