No, a grand L isn't too big, especially if you have hills. You need the wider stance and weight. If you do a search, you'll find the guy in Virginia who bought a 3030 and immediately returned it for an L.
I'm currently looking at either an L4740 or L5240. Was talking to Neil messick today (I'll buy from him) and trying to decide - Cat II makes some sense with my level of ground work. And that's on 7.5 acres.
