Well, after 3 years and 170 hours, the bx23 needs to go. I bought it to do work on my 2/3 acre, but ended up hiring the work out. My kids ended up taking all my time. I am having a hard time bringing myself to putting it on the market as there are tons of things I could do, but its just to heavy for my new lawn. My wife now calls it a lawn ornament! sigh.
So, 175 or so hours, one steering linkage boot is ripped and the air filter mount is broken (typical). Dent in the hood and paint off the front loader and BH bucket. Is 13,000 sound right for my area? Paid like 16.5k. Thoughts? |

Does your BX have a belly mower? Are the tires turf or bar? Any other options? If it has the belly mower, $13K is probably a good price. Without the mower, I've seen lower time, undented BX23s go for less.
I'd keep it if at all possible. The kids are going to get older and you'll have more time. Maybe find a place to store it that's out of her sight. A few acres in the country somewhere that needs improvement for an eventual retirement home would be perfect...though I know that's easier said than done in New England. Besides you can use it to teach the kids how to do something other than chase a ball around a field. I'm eternally grateful for the tractoring oppotunities I had back in the early 60s. At age 62, I'm still productively using what I learned then. Could I say the same thing about soccer or basketball? If you let it go now, you'll never get another. FWIW Bob

No mower. I just saw in Craigslist a guy just north of me asking 14,000 for a BX22 with 300 hours and a belly mower. Seems like 13k would be a deal for mine, of course, the BX22 is still for sale!
Oh yes, turf tires. No other options. |

The guy for the Bx22 will get 10K if lucky. Why, I sold my BX22 with mower last year for 11,500 and I was lucky; with 170 hours.
I think, or fell your BX23 will be 12K max..Heck, I paid $15000 for a new BX24 without mower. Why would I pay 13K for a used Bx23? Just trying to help. |

Don't rule out trucking it around. I have been getting reasonable quotes from:
uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Vehicles or Moves Pete |

I live in western CT, I advertised my 2005 BX23 with 175 hours, MMM and Front Blade for $15,900 (last October), I ended up trading it in for $15,800 for my B3030, the advantage was I paid $15,800 less in taxes (roughly a $948 savings) on my new machine, like trading in a car, lovely connecticut with the taxes.
The way I figured it for sale was $13,100 for the base machine, $1,500 for the MMM and $1,300 for the front blade and hitch. |

One quick question, you find your BX23 too heavy for the lawn? Turfs? I am surprised, I mow twice a week with my B3030, loaded turfs, and have no issues, my place is pretty wet too.
