L3240 or L3540

The 724 loader is a must if you are interested in the BH 90 hoe. It is the only one it will mount to as I understand it. I love my Grand L. It has been problem free and when I turn the key it is like a good dog. Ready and waiting for the next command. I would suggest try before you buy and see whats comfortable and what has a good track record. I used to own a Jinma. Not trashing them but I had quite a few issues with it felt it was a ticking timebomb. When I use the Kubota I can't wait to put it to work because it is a pleasureable day.

I am going to tip the cart a bit here, and appologize up front I have only put 70 hours on my L3240 since December, a wonderful machine, but it is often too big and heavy for my (currently) swampland (it has rained an awful lot here). I believe if I had bought a B3030 by now I would have about double the hours, based on percieved ability to run a lighter tractor on the soft ground and in and around SWMBO's landscaping (I whacked a locust tree with the loader just the other day while backing/turning; she came running )

That said, the 724 loader with the quick attach is without a doubt the way to go, I drop the bucket in about 15 seconds to lighten up while mowing, takes about 20 seconds to re-attach. And the extra lift capacity of the loader is useful if you plan to load the bucket with wet clay (get the heavy duty round-back bucket, it won't stick as bad).

You will have good luck with whichever tractor you choose, the 3240 or the 3540 are both fine KUBOTAS and you can't possibly loose

I got the 724 loader with the quick attach for my L3240, I also wanted a 72"
bucket for it, but after doing some reading here at TBN, and talking to my
dealer, I got the 66" HD Roundback. My dealer also thought this size bucket would be a much better match for the LA724, and the L3240. After using this combination I agree, and I haven't hit anything with the loader bucket that I didn't want too

The 724 with Q A is worth the extra dollars. I can change from my bucket to forks in 30 seconds. With my kubota weight box (1000 lbs) on the rear i pick up and load a 1500 lb pallet of fertilizer no problem .

When I bought I went through the same decision, L3130 vs L3430. I decided that the small hp difference was NOT worth the cost delta. I got the comparable LA723 loader with QA, the 66" HD bucket, 3 remotes plus plumbing for 2 QD set at the front of the tractor and 2 sets at the rear. I value the remotes more than the added hp would have been.

With the advent of the third function valve I don't know how many remotes you can get with the L40s but get all you can get..
