While anyway in the short term you can still cut grass with your old tractor. Congratulations on the new BX24 TLB. In the future when you get into the deck installation feel free to PM me for more information. I still have access to my old tractor and could better look at the differences between decks for you.

1*Looks like if you put a BX1500 48'' deck on your BX2230 it would /should work on a BX24 also. 2*No comment. 3*It would be nice if he could use a BX1500 RCK48 15 BX mower . I just paid $1450 for the 48'' mower on my new BX1500. I have another one of these decks that was on the used BX1500 when I got it. If he could use it I'd let it go for a decent offer.

Bx2350 and BX24 (BX1850) are from the same level of tractor THere are some differences in decks and part numbers. But like I said I think the Bx1500 deck can be made to work but with a little more effort. 2) real deal on measurements. 3) Agree as he would get the best bang for his $. I went back and looked at the pricing I was given and it was closer to $1400. (That was the reason I almost bought a throw away tractor with deck.) As I posted earlier, should you guys get more serious about this I will go and look over both decks and installations and support you on this. My friend has my old tractor. PM me if you do.

LBrown59: I guess I am going to pass on the mowing deck for the bx for this summer.
The sears mower is cutting grass fine and the bx is getting used for lots of random things now I might try and get the deck for it next summer though now that I know it can work without a lot of trouble and it would free up some space in the garage the sears mower is taking up. But for now there is a lot of stuff I didn't even think needed done that is coming up for the bx to do. I have leveled a driveway, pulled up 150ft of chain link, dug a gas line, lifted shingles up to a roof and probably a few more things I can't think of. Been a busy little tractor for just a couple of days of ownership. I haven't even started the stuff I was planning on doing with it before I got it. |

[quote=TheFlatlander]Odd mower size combination. I also didn't want a wide I put a 48' deck on my BX2660 from a BX1850. This fit with minimal modification. 48" deck will level as the other two larger decks do, drive shaft fits, and front hanging brackets fit with out modification. the only modification was cutting the rear stop brackets where they come to the frame 3/8 inch for clearance to allow the deck to get to top position. One draw back is that the cut height is 1 inch higher than the indicator. For me this was no issue as I do not cut grass lower than 2". One additional benefit is that the ground clearance with the deck raised is 1" taller. The deck cuts about 1" wider than the rear tires on both sides.
Quoted myself to make correction- Tractor was riding a little rough while cutting grass. Checked tire pressure. Way too high from Dealer. Put tire pressures to factory recommendations. Much better ride. Now even better-Rechecked cut height and now it is the same as on the selector, but lost the extra bonus inch in deck clearance. Works like factory designed, better than my earlier BX2230 conversion.

Maybe I'm tired or something but, NO. nothing -Read the old posts. I am the person who made this work and already have a mower deck. Even when I discuss this, you have an older BX version deck. The older BX1500 decks they mount up different. your deck will require modifications for the BX2230 series and back wards as I posted. This deck that I used came from a BX1850 and will work on a BX- 24, 2350, 2660 and most likely the new BX**60 series tractors that they are coming out within the near future, with the modification that I described. Also in response to an older question, I looked up the price for this deck I paid and it was $1300 plus tax. Saved me allot of $ compared to the larger decks, as the dealers seem to hate this size and want them off their floor. Since I needed this size its's nice the every once in a while you can get lucky on something.

In the BX series, I am only aware of a single 48" MMM deck model - namely the RCK48-15BX. Can someone indicate if another 48" MMM BX model exists, and what model number that would be? Also, can someone post photos that illustrate actual differences between the mounting systems for the RCK48-15BX vs the RCK54-22BX (or vs the RCK60-22BX) decks? That should help to better understand the extent of the modifications required to mount the RCK48-15BX deck onto a BX22 or BX23 tractor.
