Default Brought Home a NEW Grand L-3240!!

Well gang I have been gleaning your wisdom and thoughts on these boards for the past year...
I finally signed up for my own account here so I could start becoming part of the discussions

We are celebrating our 20th anniversary tomorrow and the great wife that I have wanted a tractor just as bad as I did!
We own 5 acres of waterfront in beautiful Kitsap County, Washington... where the air is cleaner and the oysters are sweeter!

We live so close to the dealership here in town that I was able to drive my tractor home on the road, always loved doing that.
I worked on family farms as a young high school and college stud and have plenty of experience with heavy machinery including tractors
and combine harvesters, but it has been a long time since I have operated any of that type of equipment.
The advances in tractors since that time is simply amazing.

We just completed a "guest house" on our property and moved the family in, that allowed us to demolish the old house and haul it away.
That was done by a company with a huge excavator.
A John Deere 690ELC.... powerful SOB....

They then logged off some trees and pulled up some stumps. We looked around at what was left of our disaster area,
and agreed that it was finally time for a tractor.

So, here are some pics of the new baby. We have the skidsteer quick release with the forks and the bucket, gotta love that quick release!

F15DOC,
Welcome!! What a nice place. You will not be disappointed in the tractor, I can see you will have lots of uses for it as time goes on. I just got in from mowing with my BX1500 and I am amazed with it every time I use it. Hope you enjoy the place and the tractor. Thanks for sharing the pictures as well.
Take care-TPS

You are breaking a unwritten rule by using a wheel barrow when you have a new tractor with FEL! Nice pictures... we lived in Island County (Whidbey Island) for 10 years and loved it... Still have friends there and in Port Townsand. You will love that orange tractor!

LOL, honestly that wheelbarrow has not moved for the past 4 days...
It certainly didn't move today!!
I put 2.2 hours on the kubota today.
I used the forks to move a few logs and pick up a few large brush piles and dump into the burn pile.
Then I switched to the bucket and did a reverse drag with it in "float"...
Wow that worked great to "rake" up debris into piles.
Then I scooped and dumped some more.
Love the auto stall guard feature on this tractor, no hassles...
We have a lot to do, but this tractor is going to make short work of it.
I put the bucket against a small stump and pulled it up with only a few pushes!
Gotta love it

Congratulations Roger-
Welcome to TBN. I have an L3830 with the same canopy on it with about 200 hrs use. The L series are great tractors and I like the upgrades they put into the 40 series. Enjoy it! I am constantly looking for excuses to use the tractor around my farm. By the way - amazing views and property you have.

Well, so far I have about 3.3 hours on it, getting the skidsteer quick attach all figured out, getting faster at changing between the two.
Loving this tractor. I have already been able to clean up a huge area, this project is all of a sudden, not looking so overwhelming

Hi there, Nice property, excellent tractor, you'll find more and more jobs for that L3240 that you never thought possible

BTW the wife & I were in Seattle the 2nd week of June, part business/quick getaway, we had a great time, took the ferry to/from Bambridge on a day with blue skies, apparently quite rare for that part of the country

Enjoy the L3240,
BY
