New guy here and looking for my first tractor

Hey all, first post! I've been trolling for a month or so here on the site. I'm seriously considering a Kubota B2620 w/LA364 loader, R4's. I got quoted $15,194.00 out the door. Sound about right? Also considering the BH65 backhoe and possibly a pto chipper. Any good advice on a pto chipper? I don't plan to do mowing with the machine, mainly just to clean up my woods/ push snow and manage the property. I have 9 wooded acres. I'm thinking of doing the 15% down 0%/48. I would prefer to sell the bike first though

Thoughts?

Welcome to the Forumn trust! Lots of knowlegeble folks here to help out anytime, I know they have and still help me all the time. Although I am fairly new to tractors I recently purchased the exact same setup you are contimplating. 2620 loaded r4's, FEL. The price is right on for what I paid here in upstate NY, this is with the loaded tires which I highly recomend. I think this is a nice little tractor and you wouldnt be dissapointed. Also nice bike!

This is bike #6 so I'm sure somewhere in the future there will be a #7. I bought it to enjoy while commuting to work. Now I'm in a company vehicle that I must commute in, so there went that idea. I Really don't have time or desire to ride on weekends as I have a wife & 2 small children that I want to spend that time with. So I figured the practical thing to do would be to sell it and get a tractor. I've been wanting one for a long time and have recently convinced myself that I need one. My wife says keep the bike and get the tractor too. It's not everyday you hear that.


I did get a quote today for a woods 4.5" chipper @$2950 (seems high) and a BH65 @$6700(seems high also)

On another note, in general what can I expect the amount of work this loader and backhoe can do? Or maybe it would be easier to say what it won't do?

The prices are a little higher than what I paid for mine in Aug. I got mine for $15,500 for tractor, FEL, MMM and the BH65 for $6200. Like has been mentioned on here before the backhoe really adds to the B2620. The extra weight helps with the loader work and makes it a very balanced machine. You can even leave the MMM on with the BH on. I believe the backhoe has enough power for the size of the tractor. I am still trying to adjust to it from my full size backhoe. I often find myself removing tree stumps and there is just no replacing a big heavy machine for doing it effeciently, however I have been able to cut through roughly 2" - 3" diameter roots with the BH65, which I believe is respectible for this size of tractor and BH. It has no problem digging dirt for landscaping or ditching. The BH seems a little slow, but to me that is not always a bad thing when digging, especially for an inexpierenced guy like me. Everything on the tractor is easy to take on and off. I like the fact that I don't need any tools for any of it.

Thanks for the info. I would like to think that when/if I sit down to make the purchase I could get a little price break for the whole package bringing it closer to what you mentioned.

I have a Wallenstein BX-42 woodchipper which should work fine with your future machine. It was about $2,400 out the door with the manual feed. I also considered seriously the Bearcat similar chipper (73554). Mostly I chip pine.
