L5740 HSTC

There was another gentleman on this site (CT_Tree_Guy) who used to post. His writings were extremely helpful to me, but one day he never returned to the site (I have no idea what occurred.) I must say that I miss his insight.

Here is one more of his posts. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/68747-5030-skidder-pics-tree-bota.html

He was where I first discovered the relief valve setting for my LA853 FEL (2,560 psi) which leads me to believe that your 854 FEL would be at least that high. That is a number (2,560 psi) to start with.

Here's my take on the Grand L5740HSTC...

I have a 3240 with about 210 hours.
I am continually amazed at what this little machine will do but...
I nurture it, clean it and keep it in a warm barn, exercise it daily and I keep feeding it the best engine oil, the best hydro fluid, the best diesel I can find hoping it will grow up into a 5740.

Hope this was helpful

RFB, thanks again. I just found in my loader owners manual, under specifications, where it lists the control valve, rated flow, and a max. pressure of 2630 - so I guess that's the number I'm looking for?

first things first and with no structure to keep the L5740HSTC safe and sound, i will be purchasing a see-land steel container tomorrow. they have a 40' high cube unit that has a door opening height of 8' 5 11/16". the L57440HSTC sales brochure specifications reads overall height as 101". that leaves me 11/16" to spare. my dealer says not to worry as his L5740HSTC design charts show i only need 95". I will be measuring the container height opening tomorrow just before i write the check. does anyone have an opinion on the protect your kubota property damage insurance program. looks like everything gets covered while you are financing except nuclear accidents, war and terrorism with a $250.00 deductible. my premiums look like around $25.00/month for 54 months. ???????????????

First, I just went out and measured my 5740HSTC and with R4 tires it is only about 91-92" at the maximum height point. I assume that the door width is adequate -- my wide point is the 7ft bush hog when its attached.

I got the insurance since it was WAY better coverage than my homeowners for about the same price.

When I purchased my new M5040 in Sept I also purchased the Kubota insurance.....besides being a good insurance deal.........it also lowered my finance % rate a little bit........might want to ask your dealer about that!

I have began the journey today...i think anyway...bought a sea-land container for the L5740HSTC to act as a temporary home... it is much larger than i need but for some strange reason it was less expensive to purchase outright than a smaller trailer. Attached is a picture of a used 48'L x 8'6"W x 9'6"H steel container. they guarantee the container to be in wind & water tight condition...smbluthing

the Salesman said these trailers offered for sale were from a special arraignment they have with General Electric....sales claims were made that with the rear swinging doors closed and sealed properly an air-tight moisture proof situation is created...i then questioned the merits of air vents and was told at each of the four top corners there where vent opening. if wet stuff like a rain soaked L5740 HSTC is stored in the door closed trailer there could be a moisture problem...hence the suggestion of damp rid was dropped. D A M P R I D - The Original Non-Electric Moisture Absorber only time will tell if this info is on the up and up.
