Hello TBN,

Just got back from a local dealer who had two used tractors that would fit my needs. At this point I have not made an offer for either.

B2710 HST, 402FEL, 300 hrs--$12,900 (not including sales tax)
tractor is a rental unit from the dealer and is in excellent condition, 3.9% financing available and warranty continuation

B2910 HST, 402 FEL, 25 hrs, $14500 (not including sales tax), tractor was traded in, and is considered a "used tractor", therefore 3.9% not available. Has quick adjust 3pt hitch.

I have considered L3010 also, but price is a serious consideration and the best offer from the dealer is 18400 (including rebate) for the L3010 with FEL.

Your wise counsel will be much appreciated.

I would take the 2910 out of the two. 300 rental hours can be hard on a tractor. It may have been maintained well, but maybe not. I would be leery of any rental units. I would spend the extra 1600 for the low hour tractor and get a few of the upgrades the 2910 gives you over the 2710. Good luck!

We priced a new 2910 at less than 13,000, in N.C. and a place in N.Y. has them for 13,099. Where are you?

But does that price of $13k have the FEL as well? Remember thats a $3k addition! $14500 is a good price, see if the dealer will bite at $14k even.

Thanks to all.
I'm in Massachusetts. Both prices include the FEL. I don't really see much value difference between the two and I'm leaning toward the 2910, just for the xtra hp. and the flex links on the 3pt hitch (wife calls that wimpy but then she doesn't have to wrestle with a sickle bar mower 3 times a year) What should I expect in warranty, and does it make sense that he wants to call the 2910 w/25 hrs. "used", but is willing to call the 2710 rental unit "new" for warranty purposes. The 2710 looks well cared for by the way--practically the same as the 2910. I like both of the tractors, its really a question of which is the best deal. Again, thanks for your input.

Rockfarmer, If it was me I would go with the B2910. Those 300 hours were put on by people who just didn't care about what they did to the tractor. There is no telling what kind of abuse it had put on it in those 300 hrs. As for new vs used, the B2710 was not sold to anyone, always owned by the dealer. Its a gray area for sure, but Kubota will not know of the hrs, as the paperwork has never been sent to the factory on it. Thats why the B2910 is considered used, as it was sold to someone at one time. As for price I got my B2710 last spring for $13500 with 126 hrs. FEL 72" MMM and 5ft. rear snowblower. Got it from a neighbor who had to move in a hurry due to a new job out of state. His loss was my gain!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

i would go with the 2910 , am always leary of a rental unit. too many people using it that don't care how they abuse it. just mho

about the new /used issue. the most likly reason for that is the 2710(being a rental) was never sold by the dealer, so it can be sold as new with warrenty and special finance rate, wher as the 2910 is a trade in which means it was sold so can not qualify for new status. have run into the same thing with cars. not sure but suspect this may be the case. any other ideas?

I own the 2710 but I think the 2910 with 275 fewer hours (thats nearly 3 years of my use) is the better deal. No contest, in my opinion.

I agree, that the 2910 is the better deal. My question is: why did the previous owner trade it in with only 25 hours? Probably traded up to Grand L, eh?
