Hey guys, another newbie here.I decided to trade in my 09 BX 25 the other day on a new L 3400.The salesman at the dealership showed me an L 3700 SU.I had never heard tell of it but he has one on the lot.I have searched the internet but can't even find a photo of it.It appears to be an L3400 with a few more hp and some cosmetic changes. The price is also 1000 dollars less which is a bonus.I plan on getting it with a FEL and backhoe.Just wondering if anybody has heard tell of this model and has an opinion on it.I live in Canada and am wondering if maybe this is a Canadian model only. Thanks,

I think I saw the same tractor on the same lot.. Nova International in Windsor by any chance?
Anyway, I was talking to Terry at Nova a few weeks ago, he mentioned they didn't have any 3400s on the lot but were expecting "something" soon.
Driving by today I stopped in to wander around "unmolested" (closed on Sunday), and had a look at the new tractor.
I don't see a lot of difference between the 3700 and mine, other than a couple of horsepower. Mine is gear drive, so some things are different anyway, this one was HST.
The cowling in front of the dash is grey on the 3700, there's probably a few other differences you don't see. I'd like to see a spec sheet on the new one, just to compare.
What I didn't look for was country of origin, if it's cheaper and more power, they're cutting corners somewhere.
Maybe Chinese or Korean built? I'll have to have a closer look next time I'm there.

NO NO NO NO NO! Kubota is not building anything in China or Korea. The last plant they opened was in Singapore, but thats doing equipment for Asia.

It a tweaked version of the L3400. The cost savings comes in that the loaders are sold as a forced package to the dealer. Its ment to address some of the added competition that we get from Deere super economey models that lack backhoes, remotes, removable loaders, quick couplers, etc, etc. Kubota decided to use normal stock stuff with no limitations and just offer this at a packaged price. Its been done before... see B7510 Turf Special from a few years ago.

The bucket is 60" and uses pins instead of being quick detach. The loader itself is the same loader as the L3400. I was quoted an L3400 on Saturday and it had a 66" bucket that was quick detach with two levers. But they were very close in price. Will Kubota let the dealer upgrade the bucket on the new L3700 or do they have to sell the 60"????

Thanks for anyone that knows.

So from what you've said, the 3700 will be standard-equipped with quick detach loader as a package? From a consumer point of view that's a good thing, the price stays down, horsepower goes up. If you don't want a loader, then the 3400 is still available.

Interesting strategy, like dangling a carrot in front of a mule. "I know you don't really want the loader, but you're paying less than you normally would, and we're adding a couple more horsepower to sweeten the pot."

I'm thinking you're not going to see a lot of new L3400's on the lots. Makes it tough on the dealers, instead of stocking just one tractor (L3400 with or without loader at price "x" or "y"), they will now get customers wanting an L3700 with loader at price "z"..

Is the 3700 available with either gear or HST transmission? The one I saw was HST. I didn't notice a rear remote either, but can't say I looked that hard.

You'd think for the sake of reducing confusion and questions that the website would reflect the new offerings before the machinery hit the ground.

This might be the last year for the 3400 if the 3700 is well-accepted, and I can't see why it wouldn't be provided they still offer the choice of transmissions. That's speculation on my part..

I was looking at the "stripped" Deere's on the weekend (time on my hands). They have some good points, but don't compare well in other areas. Still glad I picked Kubota.

Just bought the L3700. It was only about $500 more than the L3400 without hydro trans. Had the extra hp and hydro trans. which is suppose to be standard with the L3700.

L3700 does not come with the draw bar (cost me an extra $100) and doesn't have the raised lettering on the decals. Paid $17800.00 before taxes.

Has anyone seen a Gear L3700, or just HST?

Sorry. I missed part of the last post. Nothing on the Kubota website about it.

I bought one today. It came standard with a quick attach FEL. I added the BH76 BH and an 84" Befco rfm. And yes, the drawbar was an extra $100. It has a different seat then the L3400. It cost about $800 less then the L3400. Although another dealer tried to get the same price out of me.
I haven't seen it yet because they just got it in and it is still crated. They will be delivering it in two or three days. My dealer gave me a brochure and it has 30 PTO HP. I will need that for my 84" rfm.
I am very pleased with my deal. I forgot to mention, it has R4 tires.
