Tractor
Kubota L3560 HSTC, formerly B3030HSDC
After months of lurking, a few posts, and lots of discussions with Kubota owning neighbors, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a 3030 while the 0% interest is still offered.

I was originally planning to go for a used tractor, but after months of watching craigslist and a few tractor websites (few of which had tractors in my area), I've yet to find anything with the equipment I need that would cost less than new when factoring in financing (0% APR for new, much higher than that used).

Received the following quote today:
  • 3030HSDCC (still learning what all these letters mean; I'm looking for factory cab with rear wiper, defrost, rear work light)
  • R4 tires
  • LA403 loader (believe this includes quick connect and 60" bucket; confirming this)
  • radio (didn't ask for this, not sure if this is CD or not. Kubota website build your own prices seem incredibly expensive for a stereo considering what I could buy through Crutchfield and install myself, but this isn't a deal breaker for me

Quote for above: $25,900, which appears to be 90% of MSRP if I include the non-CD radio and got my options right on the website (see attached).

Based on what I've read elsewhere on this forum, 10% MSRP is a good but not exceptional deal.

Quote including implements:
  • B2782A snow blower with all kits needed for install and hydraulic chute: $5300 (if my math is correct, this is only 3% of MSRP; are implements typically reduced?)
  • Land Pride RCR18-60 rotary cutter: $1600
  • Land Pride GS 15-60 grading scraper: $1200

I can't find MSRP for the Land Pride equipment (is that available online), so no idea if those prices are good or not.

I'm happy with the dealer (highly recommended by numerous long time customers, very close to my house), can live with the price, and have a lot of things competing for my time.

Would greatly appreciate any advice from the forum on how much savings (if any) I'm likely to get with additional negotiating. I don't mind negotiating, but I don't do it for fun and don't want to waste my time (or the dealer's) if the demand for this product is high enough that negotiation isn't likely to get me much more of a discount.

Thanks!

I can't speak too much about prices, but if you were to get 10% off across the board........ I'd say that would be satisfying.

Since its your money I'm spending, I'll add my 2 cents.

Order it with the ATI Tach-all, and not the Kubota quick attach for the loader. It is more money, but you will have infinitely more options for front mounted attachmnets instead of just a few proprietary attachments from Kubota. This will allow you to get a credit on the factory bucket, and use that credit toward a SSQA bucket. Its cheaper and easier to do now. I probably use my forks more than my bucket nowadays.

Get the tractor with the radio install package, but NOT the factory radio. The factory radio works fine, but its 3X the cost it should be. Just buy a nice radaio at BestBuy with bluetooth, ipod ready, etc for less money and install yourself.

Consider either the electric or hydraulic chute deflector for the blower. They will allow you to put the snow anywhere you want without getting out of the tractor to adjust the deflector.

Since it appears you aren't finish mowing a finely manicured lawn, I'd consider the rear wheel spacers, and have the rear tires loaded with RimGuard.

The best way to negotiate is always have a price for the same equipment from a few other dealers. It also lets you know a fair price and then you decide how much in dollars it's worth to you to buy from one dealer over another. Barlows and Messicks can give you a price to deliver it to your home since you don't have a lot of time to go pick it up.

Thanks very much for the info, especially on the bucket. I agree with the radio - I don't see a separate option for the radio install package on the site - assuming that covers wiring, mounting location, then you add radio - and speakers?

Price did include RimGuard - and yes, mowing would be for fields - lawn is being covered with a ZTR mower.

Thanks, hadn't heard of Barlows and Messicks but do have a friend checking with a local dealer he's done business with for same reason you mentioned.

 Might want to read some more posts, maybe do some searches in the kubota pricing section.
Did you get HSDCC from the kubota web site? Usually shown as HSTC = Hydrostatic with Cab

Ah, good question.

Website (and PDF "web quote" created by the website) describes tractor as B3030HSDC. Here is the direct link to the product page for what Kubota (or at least their website) calls the 3030HSDC.

The dealer quote I received included the extra C, which the salesperson told me referred to cold weather package (or something to that effect).

HSD is hydrostatic, HSDC is hydrostatic with cab, HSDCC hydrostatic with cab, cold weather package (rear defrost, 60 amp alternator).
