What does all the letters mean after kubotas model numbers?

IE: m/mx/su/suh/sud

Think I want a something along the lines of a 5640su (or sud?)

Thank you, that answers my biggest question.

What is the difference between M and M/SU? M is supposed to be nicer I think, but what is nicer?

The M-SU model is the economy model M with fewer options. I believe it stands for Special Utility. mdelmarcelle and Native Son both have the M7040SU, so they can tell you more.

The MX is smaller than the M and the biggest you can get is the MX5100.

Truth be told: I stole it from elsewhere myself.

Thanks to both of you, that is certainly a good explanation for everything.

You are more than welcome, GW and I have BX, L and M models and I highly recommend anything in the Kubota lineup. The SU designations in all of the models provide very good values.

I'll add an entry to the previous excellent list.....

for example, I have a 5030 HSTC

it's a 50ish horsepower model
it's a 30 model series... current version is designated 40 series
it's an HST transmission
and it has a Cab...thus the C at the end.
