Great looking machine. I wish I needed that.
No doubt about it, you got yourself a great machine there. Are those Rear wheel weights Kubota OEM? I like the idea of the rear weights. Do you have a part number on them? Congrats on a fine machine
The dealer didn't put the part number on my order. The weights have a casting number as shown in my picture - NS 3157; however, I worked for 2 companies during my career. One company used a factory casting number for in house identification. The other company cast the finished part number into the part. My guess is this would be a good number to start from because there is no machining on the casting - as cast is the finished part. I attached a close up of the weights so you can see how the center hole allows access to remove a wheel without removing the weight, and how 3 weights stack up with the taper interlocking weights to prevent creep (opposite side of each weight is a projecting cone shape).
I appreciate you taking the time to post photos and answer my question. Up here in Canada and especially here on the island of Newfoundland there's not a lot of choices when it comes to purchasing this sort of thing but I called a few places and they could get the weights but only in segments of 180 lbs each and the price was around $240. For each segment plus mounting kit which was around $45.each.
I ended up ordering two weights per side and then got talking to my dealer about a trade on my 4240 Grand L cabed tractor. It only has 200 hours on it and is only used for snow clearing but they put together a deal on a new 2011 5740 cab model like yours so I went with it  These Grand L series tractors are great machines. You got a beauty there sir. Thanks for your help.
Great tractor...I am a wanabe still but love the L series.
Where are you in N MN...I am East of Duluth out in the woods. My guess is most of your work is in fields? I do not thing I would exist well with a cab...I have a Polaris Ranger sidexside and the ROPS get beat up pretty bad on my work around my trails, etc??
Thanks for the posts...always fun looking at new tractors! TMR
So if you don't mind me asking and tell me so if you do, what did you deal for on the new l5740?
I don't mind you asking and I know you won't mind me not saying other than I traded my tractor along with some money
There were a chain of events that led up to this and it ended up working out great.
