Good afternoon guy's, I just joined this forum looking for some feedback/opinions on these two tractors. My dad is currently in the market for a Kubota tractor and has narrowed it down to these two. He cant decide between the two and the big difference is the turbo on the MX5100. Has anyone had problems with the Turbo? We're going to primarily use the tractor to bush hog and till around the farm. Also, is 13500 cash a good price for the 5100? Thanks for you help and insight.

bigbull338 owns a MX5100, so maybe he will show up and give some information, from everything I have heard from him, he really likes it. The MX5100 has some features such as the extendable 3-point arms that the MX4700 doesn't have.

Our M8540 has a turbo and it really isn't an issue as more and more tractors have them for a little more power and to meet EPA requirements.

I have an MX5100 in 4WD. It is still new -- less than 10 hours. A personal friend is the Kubota "warranty" mechanic in this area and he assured me the turbo was not a problem and was highly desireable.

I have a new mx5100 4x4 w fel have about 25 hours.

The extra HP and the upgraded 3 pt hitch is worth the difference.

If I remember the difference is about $1K

Thanks guys for the responses, its been pretty hectic the last few days in North GA and AL. I think we've decided on the 5100. It's a great tractor and from what I've read the turbo is very reliable. Kubota's are known for being a well built tractor, so I would expect the same thing out of the turbo. I'll post pics soon.
