Comparison 2008 BX2660 vs 2011 BX2660?

Hi guys, just wondering if any of you could summarize the differences between the 2008 and 2011 models of the BX2660. I've searched the net for info, but haven't been able to find anything significant. There's a dealer here with a new, but weathered, 2008 model. Not sure if paying for a 2011 would be worth the extra money, as I'm sure it'll be at least $2k more.

if it was me id buy the 2008 BX2660 because the dealer has had it on the lot for 3yrs.an it would be at the 2008 price plus he will most likely make you a real good price to move it.

On the other hand, you have to ask yourself why he would still have that tractor? Maybe the BX2660 just doesn't sell that wsll in your area. Dealers around here sometimes end up with more of them than the other models. What is the price difference between that BX2660, and a newer BX2360? Seats, and those kind of things really take a beating when they are left out that long, and are not cheap to replace.

I doubt you will find any differences.

If it was a new product, one or two parts might have been modified if owner experience contributed to new engineering, but BXs have been around for over a decade.

This is exactly why Kubota doesn't sell tractors by year.

I would by the one sitting on the lot for the lower price.

Full warranty, and the money was right I would buy it. See what kind of a deal you can get

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm negotiating with the dealer, as they're on the verge of losing the Kubota line, so I'm also talking with the company that's picking it up. We'll see what kind of prices these guys give me, and then I'll make my decision. This overlap of about a week gives me alternatives that we normally wouldn't have here.

Suggest you push for a "smoking hot deal" in that situation. You have an "old inventory" unit - greater potential for warranty issues vs. fresh unit - at a dealer who is barely hanging on to his franchise. That could go bad in so many ways, obviously. Since you are the one taking that risk, the dealer needs to make it worth your while. Best of luck!

Yeah, I really wish I could just spring for a new one, but with the limited budget that I have, options are scarce... especially here in Hawaii.

Question, what would you guys expect to pay for one that's been sitting for a couple years on the lot? We pay a premium here because of the lack of competition within our region and the shipping cost to bring the machines here. There are a couple other guys looking at this very machine too, so I think a smokin' deal isn't in the works. Would appreciate your thoughts on what would be a fair expectation for a couple year old BX2660.

Rare oppertunity. If all checks out and the older unit is in good shape. the warranty starts at purchase. Enjoy the cost savings. Great Tractor!
