I have just bought a B2910. I didn't get a backhoe yet because I was trying to keep my payments low. The dealer deals with the woods backhoe and said that the 6500 would work best with that. Should I get the Woods for 5400.00 or the Kubota 4690 for 6300.00

I've got a Kubota B2910 and a Woods 7500 with subframe and pump.

I would recommend you get the 7500 instead of the 6500. The extra reach is well worth the difference. The Kubota 4690 is a 7 1/2 foot backhoe as is the Woods 7500. The Woods 6500 is only a 6 1/2 foot backhoe.

The B2910 will handle a 7 1/2 foot hoe and I recommend you get one with that reach.

If you get a Woods hoe, I would also recommend the heavy duty top-link bracket for your B2910 that is available from Kubota. That bracket is, I believe, included with the Kubota hoe's. The bracket and mounting bolts are about $80 or so.

You should be able to get a Woods 7500 with subframe and separate pump for less than the Kubota 4690. That's the way it was when I bought mine back in June 2000.

Oh yeah, and Woods backhoes are available painted in Kubota orange.

If you're not going to get a sub-frame mount for some reason, I would only "trust" a Kubota 3 pt. hoe due to warranty considerations.

There are several members on this board with Woods and Kubota hoes on B2910's or similar size tractors, so you should get a lot of input.

llknolesll: ....... I have a B2710 with a Woods 7500 & subframe/pump setup also. My BH works beautifully with this tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I agree with Rick that the larger hoe will give you a much better reach and your tractor will easily handle it safely with the subframe option. My dealer recommended the Woods/subframe version, pointing out frame integrity, safety & no possibility of tractor fluid contamination using the self contained hydro. reservoir & pump. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif ...RayBee ..Good Luck!

Ditto. Get either the 4690 or the wood 7500. It's worth every penny more than you'd pay for a 6500.

Double Ditto. I had the B2910 with a Woods 7500 w/ subframe and pump. It all worked very well together.

Good Luck,
