Buying Advice What excavator do i buy

My choices are a 2007 KX 91-3 with 1800 hrs for 29,500 or a 2006 KX 91-3 with 2900 hrs for 16,500. Its for personal use on my land.

thats a life time of use differance for personal use. I would keep looking a low hr kx91 or 121 I just looked a 121 with 400hrs and was afraid to offer 30 as I think he would have sold it. About week later it was sold so???

I would look awhile longer if it were me, you should be able to find the same machines with less than 1000 hours for that money

I would agree with Sunshine if you can find one in time however I would go with the higher hours and half the price since this is personal use and assuming that they are otherwise similar in condition and upkeep. That is a significant difference in dollars and not that meaningful in hours if all else is the same.

Prices vary all over the country, and what may be high in one area might be normal in another. Assuming that the prices are good in your area, I wouldn't even think about it. The 2006 machine for almost half the price is by far the better deal if everything else is the same. 3,000 hours is well broke in, but only half way to being tired, and probably a third of the way to being worn out if it's been maintained.

Home use means you wont use it all the time like commercial use, so it's probably going to get used weekends? evenings? maybe for a short period of time quite a bit. But it will also sit for long periods of time, so you won't add many hours to it.

This did not meet reserve on E-bay today, high bid was insult at $24,700. 2'nd time it was listed. If you could get it for under 30K, you would be stealing it.

I have same weight machine, but much much older.
