Hello all, I've been looking at the L3240 and L3540. I was wondering about the different backhoe sizes for them. Since the pump capacity is the same on both would either tractor run either the 77 or 92 backhoe the same? I realize the 3 hp difference but not sure that would matter with the same flow. For those who have one of these, whats your experience with the dig using the larger hoe? I'd sooner only by one hoe for it and not wish I got a different one. Any guidance on this would be great.

Thanks

THey both will handle both backhoes but you have to have the 724 loader for the bh92. Get the heavier duty loader even if you're not getting the backhoe. Big difference in capabilities..

My advice would be to get the 3540. Both will run either BH fine but the 3240 is right at the bottom end for HP needed for this size tractor. Down the road chances are you'll want the extra HP. If your dealer has a 3240 on the lot and will offer you a great price or the 3540 is just a little out of your price range then I would get the 3240.

I had the choice between the 3240 and 3540. The dealer only only priced the 3240 $1000 less than the 3540 so I went with the 3540 and the BH 92. Looking at it another way, its only $17 extra a month. So far it seems to have been a good choice.
