New 8560&9960
I know I just bought a new 7040 but my brother come to me and wonts to buy my new tractor,so now I have to think about this. I called the dealer tody and priced some new models both cab,ldr,2remotes and 2wd. M9960 $44,800 and M8560 $41,700,I didnt price the 4wd models cause they are out of my price range. This is still up in the air but I dont know if I should just keep what I have or go Bigger? I do already have one 4wd 7040 so I could just use it in the wets spots or pull the 2wd out,if it wont my dozer will. I guess will add that this all started cause I am letting him borrow for the weekend to do some chores around his place and he really needs one,his old tractor is a piece without a loader.

Since you'll still have one of the two m7040's with 4x4 and a loader then why not buy the new 2wd with out one? That's the only way we see new 2wd tractors in my neck if the woods.

Re: New 8560&9960
Well I'm in the market for new 15ft batwing this year also so wife not going to go for too much, without me buying her a new ring or something, lol. But not much reasoning in me selling my 7040 and turn around and buying another 7040,might as well buy something bigger,I called and my dealer can't get any 8540/9540's,and I'm not thrilled about the location of the exhaust on the 60's. I like my tractor cause I have added the big wheels and stereo system and its way better than the older 7040,just helping a brother out mainly.

You could always do like I did... I convinced my GF that the RTV was just as much for her as it was for me.

My m8540 even with loaded tires and 1000 plus pounds on 3pt is pretty useless in 2wd on any thing much over 1200-1500 lbs. heck even with an empty bucket its easy to spin the rear tires when backing up on very small slopes in soft ground or gravel

Yeah my brother called and said he had been moving dirt around and said man if this tractor wasnt 4x4 it wouldnt be much. If I was to purchase a 2wd I know that it would be something that would only do certain task. Think im just going to tell him to go get something else and keep mine for a couple years then get a new bigger 4x4 and sell the old 7040.
