Buying Advice Mid pto question

Looking at buying a used L3540. But listing does not mention a mid pto. I wasn't sure if they all came with a mid shaft to connect a mid mower to or if there are two different trannys, one with and one without? I don't want to buy one and find out I can never use a mid mower

1. Mid PTO: On some of the Grand L's the mid PTO can be added by simply draining all the hydraulic fluid, removing the cover plate and installing mid PTO subassembly. It's a fairly simple job to do at home including connecting the linkage and interlock switches. I did this on my L3130 and the cost is fairly reasonable at approximately $400. But BEWARE, some L's the tractor needs to be split to add the mid PTO option and is more expensive. According to the 2011 Wholegoods price list your tractor only needs the kit, but the larger (L4240, L4740, etc) models need the Mid-PTO Internal Gear Kit.

2. Connecting shafts: The mid PTO consists of only the male spline connector and nothing else. Kubota sells the necessary drive shafts depending on the implement (mower, snow blower, etc...).

3. MID PTO P/N: L8338, Mid-PTO Kit, Factory number K285L48, Suggested List Price $366 From 2011 Wholegoods price list.

4. Mower Deck RC72-38: There are several footnotes concerning compatibility with R4 tires, backhoes, etc... You might want to investigate if mid-mower is important to you.

Thanks Mo that really helps. Odd how if you build one on their site with a mower you can use Ag tires, but not R4.
