I have to say this is the first time I'm disappointed with Kubota... and I'm not referring to my tractor

In 2 weeks, I will have 10 years of ownership under my belt of the brand new BX23 I bought in 2004.

Approaching 400 hours and it has done everything asked of and more... friends were so impressed they bought Kubota over Deere.

I was out shopping for a L series at my closest dealer after calling ahead... we set up Saturday to meet.

Told Dolk that I have never received any mailings from Kubota and he suggested I contact corporate which I did by e-mail

Here is the reply received...

Thank you for your email to Kubota. Unfortunately, the Kubota Loyalty Discount is only sent to selected customers that meet certain criteria and it's not transferable.

Don't that just beat all?

I think, the you had to buy a certain number of machines perhaps. I bought 3 (4 now) over 7 years and was on the list. Maybe if we do a quick survey we can figure out that "Certain Criteria"

Well... you could very well be right.

Kubota is the only new tractor I have ever bought and because of the excellent service received... only natural to put Kubota at the top of my list when in the market for an addition... not a replacement.

The Dealer said he had recently sent one out with Owner Loyalty and his customer had only one new Kubota previously.

With the last L3200 being sold the night before all my options became more expensive and this is where the discount would have come into play...

Dave with Mahindra is putting together a 3616 quote with a 5 year warranty... it will be interesting to compare.

PS... Do you guys get periodic mailings from Kubota?

The reason I ask is only once did anything come my way and it was a satisfaction survey and I had no problem saying I was very satisfied.

I have two payments left on a Kubota I sold last year.
PS. I guess one of my "secrets" for trading so often has just been told. I draw my equity back out while financing at 0% for 60 months.

Does that mean you sold someone a tractor without satisfying lien on it??

Wow, you guys are pushin' all my buttons on buying a tractor. I think I'll do a casual drive-by in a day or so just to look around. I have the same unresolved tractor issues as JohnThomas and it doesn't take much to push me over the edge. Heck, we aren't going to live forever and I don't want my last thoughts to be "I wish I would have bought that tractor".

Besides, JohnThomas said he's good for lunch so as long as he doesn't make any rapid movements towards the door before the check is paid I figure I'm good to go. :D (grin)

JohnThomas--anything you trade is likely in better shape than when you got it. I still kick myself for not buying your F mower that you traded and later bought back.

I thought you legally had to pay off the lien if you sold the property (they would have nothing to collect/repo) Sort of leaves the new owner in a pickle - the tractor is really still owned by Kubota???

Yes, sort of.

You do not legally have to pay off any lien (unless you have contracted to do so) if you sell real estate or personal goods. The seller still owes a debt, in Real Estate it's the Mortgage that specifies payments be made. The lender still has a lien on the property until they sign a release which they will do when they receive the final payment. The Real Estate buyer should always research (pay for a Title Search) at the courthouse for any liens which also checks for true ownership, liens and legal recorded description. Land/property can be bought or sold with liens but the debt is still there and owed until paid by someone. Bank, friend, buyer, seller, parent, etc.
The tractor was sold to me by Kubota Corp and ownership transferred to me on that date with a debt/obligation to pay off Kubota Credit Corp (a money lender) under the recorded terms the outstanding debt and in Ky tractor liens are NOT recorded in the local County Courthouse like Real Estate. The lender (KCC, not Kubota Corp) has a legal claim to the machine which I own if I don't pay the debt, the tractor being the security to insure payment of the debt. With tractors it's recorded at the State Capital for KCC, with the assistance of the selling dealer, and can be researched on line which most people don't know, dealers know. This information can be valuable for buyers of used tractors to know. I've made all payments on time as promised to Kubota Credit Corp and have not violated the terms of our contract which will be paid off in two more months. The buyer has suffered nothing so has no issues to claim distress or loss.

I said I'll pay and I will. I didn't say "where" we'll eat but we won't starve.:D We may place our order with Barlows crew and eat out front with Steve Barlow and his mechanics and Gary the Super parts man and Jamey and Marvin.

Yep, your right, you should but it's to late now. No, the ones I trade in are about always dirty but other than that they are in good shape.

I think they do. I usually just go roost in one of their chairs and harass Gary till I get worked in. :D

This is why some of you guys have to wait on an email reply.
