Tractor
Kubota L5030
I'm curious about what the consensus here is regarding the prices for these two tractors (I still am struggling to decide between the two, but that is the subject for another post). I have quotes from my local dealer $20100 for the 4330 and $24050 for the 5030, both with hydrostatic transmission, LA853 loader, and canopy. I like the dealer and have dealt with him in the past with my M4700 and G2160 lawn tractor, but was just wondering how these prices stack up with what other people are seeing.

I'm tempted to go with the 5030 (more power is always better /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif), but at least on paper the 4330 is pretty much the same tractor with a few less HP because of its engine's shorter stroke. Decisions, decisions!!!!
Thanks - Chuck

BTW, the prices do include R-4 tires.

The tires are different sizes as well. Prices seem good that you were given. My preference would be for the L4330. I had a L48, it utilizes the same engine as the L5030 and don't miss the extra torque/hp a bit. I hear repeatedly that you can't have to much tractor. I had to much tractor and downsized. I don't regret the decision a bit. The 5030 will give you a little more PTO power, a decison that will depend on what your hanging on the 3 pt hitch. I run a 84" finish mower on my L3830 HST and it easily turns it. Rat...

P.S. When I have serious work to do, I rent or hire a industrial tractor, I'd rather dish out the brutal punishement to something really built to do it day in and day out. Last week a friend with his CAT 426 hoe gave me 1 hour of work that eliminated easily a few days of work. With a 21' reach on that hoe, he pulled out trees and brush from my stream. Cost, $85, that was a deal!

Chuck that is a VERY GOOD deal on the 5030. If you upgrade to Quick Hitch/Heavy Duty bucket with bolt-on-edge, you can expect to pay about $775.00 more. Don

Chuck, the attachment is the Implement Limitation Table from the Kubota Owner’s Manual for your comparison. Like Rat said that is where the extra HP difference comes into the equation. Don.

The prices are right, good prices and the choice is yours to make.

Don,
Thanks for the info. I probably don't have the need for a quick detach FEL bucket, so I didn't price it. But last night I was thinking about the HD bucket with a toothbar, since the 853 FEL is so strong. I haven't gotten back to the dealer to price that out yet, though.

Art,
The choice is the hard thing - it wouldn't be that much more painful (financially speaking /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) to go with the 5030 since I'll be trading in my M4700 that only has 350 hours on it, but that $4000 difference could go toward a new tiller, plow, and I'll be needing a new HD 6' rotary cutter in a year or so.......

I had a feeling that the prices I was quoted were decent, and I might even be able to do a little better on the 4330 if I buy the implements at the same time since he has 7 or 8 of them sitting on the lot right now. I would guess that the 4330 will do everything the 2WD M4700 that I've had the past 5 years will do, even though it is a few less HP, because of it being FWD. I guess I lose a couple more PTO HP because of the 4330 being HST, vs. the M4700 being a gear transmission too, so maybe the 5030 is a better comparison........

The bottom line is that I probably wouldn't go wrong with either one.

I live in Tn as well and am looking to purchase a 4330 in the next 2 weeks. Those prices are better than I have been quoted. What dealer are you working with?
Thanks

RaT;

I have my Kubota book out: 4330hst vs 5030hst.

Tires are Front-8.3-16 vs 9.5-16
Rear-14.9-24 vs 14.9-26

Engine displacement-134.1 vs 148.6
Implement pump-9.4gpm vs 9.8gpm
Fuel capacity- 10.6 gal vs 11.4 gal
PTO power HST-34.5 vs 42.5
Engine gross power- 43.2hp vs 52.2hp.
3 point lift capacity- 2760 vs 2980

Don't forget, the wheel offset is adjustable on the 5030. I don't actually know if the 4330 is, but I will stand corrected on that subject.
