Thanks for the responses everybody. I'll end up with the dangling belt problem what ever I do. Happy to hear the problem isn't a problem for at least one person.

Right now I'm driving over a hay field that hasn't been worked for probably 20 years or more. The land is meadow going back to bush. Plus a former owner that dug and deposited things everywhere. Sure am happy I'm only driving over it and not working it. Still, got to get those belts on.
