bh90 or woods 9000

i have a 3130 bota and am torn between the bh90 and the woods 9000. has anyone used or have an opinon on them. any info would be great. thanks in advanced.......craig

A friend of mine has the Kubota bh and has had problems with bending the dipper cylinder. I believe I've read on here of others having similar problems. A search might get you some insite into both bh's. Maybe they've fixed it by now.

Had the same decesion to make earlier in the summer and went with the Woods. My friend has a 9000 and is very happy with it and I had a Woods 7500 previously and my only issue was the subframe mounting. The new 9000 with 4 point subframe is much easier to attach and feels more solid attached to the tractor than the previous version and the 3 point arms can remain on the tractor which only takes a few minutes to do, but is a pain. I also heard of some problems with the BH90. The dealer had no knowledge of any issues, but had not sold that many. Also, the price of the Woods was less than the BH90 so I went with the Woods. I've only had it a few months, but am more than satisfied.

I've had my L3130 and Woods 9000 going on 3yrs and am happy with it. It has a full subframe and 4 point connection.

how much cheaper is the woods?? The BH90 was around $7.5k.

Thats about what I paid for the 9000 with 12 and 24" buckets. The kubota BH was about 1K more at the time.

I'm prejudiced because I have the BH90 and have had problems on the job, in June, and now it's early October and the Kubota rep has yet to make the effort to see my machine and offer a solution, one delay after another. I won't use it on another job because of the risk of another failure. It's only useable again because of my efforts.
Interesting that not one person has recommended anything other than Woods.

What kind of problems are you having with the BH90? I heard from alot of TBN members that it is a great backhoe.

It is a great backhoe, beats the pick and shovel hands down.
All backhoes are great compared to manual labour. Some backhoes are better than others. I believe there are better backhoes than the BH90. This belief doesn't come from the opinions of others, it is purely from my own first hand experience. I was completely happy and couldn't say enough good things about mine until it let me down because of a premature failure. Kubota agrees there are / have been manufacturing deficiencies concerning the BH90. Kubota says they will take care of me and make me happy again, they have not so far, tick tick tick the time goes by. If you listen closely you can hear the sound of Kubota ignoring me. Plently of lip service but no resolution.

If I see someone already has a BH90 I tell them it is a nice backhoe. It is reasonable to expect some BH90's to be defect free.
If someone asks bh90 or woods 9000, I offer what happened to me.

All luck isn't bad, so good luck with yours.

I will just keep the rpms to 1500 or lower to be safe. Don't want any problems. Takes a little longer that ok.
