Hi everyone. I have about 25-30 acres to maintain which i just purchased and was going to use an old 8n for the maintenance since I already have it. I came across a 2003 with 95hrs GST l-3830 with 5'Brush bull cutter ( i think that is name ) it 4wd, woods 1012 loader.

I have searched the net for prices it seems that 15,500-16,500 is the range for these from what i can tell. Please provide your input on the price and tractor for what i am going to use it for.

thanks in advance.

My L3830 with HST, LA 732 loader, toothbar, TnT, foldable Rops, R4's and a 84" finish mower is getting ready for the market. I plan to price it at about $20,000. I think I have 2 people interested. It is in great shape with 575 hours. I figure 10 to 15% depreciation but new buyers won't be paying any sales tax here either.

$15,000 would be a great price IMO. 95 hours is pretty much brand new for a tractor. The TnT setup on RaT's tractor probably adds $1,500 to the value and the Kubota loader runs a bit more than the Woods loader does new.

As far as what you can do with a L3830 vs. what you can do with an 8n there is no comparison. You will love the L3830, but you will always wonder if you should have bought bigger. If you don't need it right away you can keep waiting for a better deal. Also moving up just a few hp into the 45 hp class will allow you to run bigger implements which will get more work done faster. 38 hp is pushing it with a 6' rotary cutter but a 45 hp will think a 6' cutter is perfect IMO.
