I just bought this excellently preserved g1900s for $3000. Only 540 hours. Extra blades (x2) and parts, WSM, turbo bagger. It mows great. The turbo bagger is for sale as I won't use it. What I wish it had: tach, power steering, grab bars. I've already added a grab bar and will survive without the tach and ps. Any advice on a non-functioning temp gauge and an intermittently functioning gas gauge?

Hi, Duane. What a small world - I was watching that machine on a eBay listing and wondered why it just ended. You must have bought it locally!

Looks like a really nice machine. Congratulations!

As for gauges, try cleaning the contacts at the rear of the cluster. Also at the temp sender on the engine block and the fuel tank (have to take off seat and fender, it's easy).

I never could chase down the problem with the temp gauge on my G1900S so I installed an aftermarket gauge. I actually like it better since I can monitor the actual temp as opposed to just red or green area of gauge.

Really nice machine you got.

I have the exact same unit and it has been a great unit. Good lock with it. Thanks John

Yes, I bought it locally. The original owner took great care of it. I will check the contacts. Already checked the engine block sender but will look for the one on the tank.

I have a G1900 also but not 4ws. When my guages stoped working (both at the same time) it was the ign switch. I got one on ebay for 29.95. I also have a bagger like you have. I use it mainly for fall to clean up the leaves. They work great! Mine has 1,250 hours is working fine.

How did you figure it was the ignition switch? I hate spending money on parts in place of good old trouble shooting.

My owners manual has a wiring diagram. There was no power to either guage when the switch was in run. If I put 12v to the guages they worked.
