We have off the shelf standard stock affordable parallel shaft spur gear drive. The ratio is 3.73:1 and it has two gears. This allows you to decrease 2000RPM(approx.)to 536Rpm it also changes the direction so then you may use standard 540RPM implements. Dealer and or end user inquiries welcome.

Do you have a gear ratio closer to 2.5:1? My mid-PTO is about 2150 and I would like to run rear PTO implements at 850 ish.

You want them to fly apart?

Want what to fly apart? You have to be a little more specific.
These gearboxes are proven and used in this and similar applications.

The reason for being able to run a 540 RPM implement at 850ish for me, is to be able to bring the tractor RPM down to a speed where the engine does not run as hard.

My mower runs at 540 but the engine needs 2300 RPM to create 540 at the PTO. If I had a speed reducer driven off the mid PTO (2150) then I could run the engine near 1900 instead of screaming its guts out at 2300 for the same 540 that is needed by the implement.

I would appreciate more info or litterature about your reducer. My tractor is a JD 2520 with mid pto at 2000 and would like to run front mounted snowblower that run at 540.

I don't think your going to get much info from him seeing how this thread is 10 years old!
