Kubota B7200 Cold Weather Operation

I bought mine from the local dealer. How did you get the drain pipe out?

I used to plow snow with my B7200. It has a compression release on it that I would use sometimes when the temp is much below 32F. The compression release (black pull knob on left) raises the exhaust valves and lets the engine turn over very easy. You can either just barely pull it to reduce compression or fully pull and have no compression to let the engine spin up and then release it or ease into it. Some one else may know the proper way to use it. I will try to look it up in the owners manual tomorrow and see if says anything about the exact use for it. I definetly run the glow plugs for 30 - 50 sec. and use the Power Service diesel additive year round. I have had to use different. throttel settings, but generally about 1/4 to 1/2. My tractor sits in a non heated pole barn and does not have any type of heater on it. A good battery will help as well. Mine was slowly getting weaker and it made a diff when I replaced it with a new one. Also if it is trying to start (running roughly on its own after cranking) I will turn the key back to the glow plug position for a little extra, since it will not shut the tractor off to turn it back.

According to the operators manual:

When starting in cold weather or with a weak battery,

Preheat Glow Plugs (over 32F 20-30 sec. , 32F to 23F 40-60 sec.)
Pull the Decompression knob
Depress the clutch pedal fully
Engage starter
After flywheel reaches full speed (3-5 sec.) push decompression knob back in.

note:
When ambient temp is less than 5F remove battery from tractor and store in warm place until next operation.

Hope this helps, BTW I use an inline coolant heater on my IH3616 and I agree with everyone else they work good.
