Just finished R/R rear axel housing due to hitting tree limb while mowing. Thanks to all that helped job done. Couldn't have done it without my TBN advisors. Once put back together I had one more decision to make re udt/sudt. decided to stay with sudt but wasn't real confident that my silicon seal job was going to work or hold up to stress on rear end. So I decided to top off with TSC Traveler UDT compatable and put my work to test. Then after a day or two drain. filters and SUDT. Well guess what? Everything working just fine, just like it did before work. EXCEPT the rear three pt jerk while lifting is GONE GONE. This problem has been talked about extensivily on TBN and apparently Kubota has gone from "we'll fix it under wty" to "this is an economy tractor" Well, unless some problem developes down the road, Kubota has lost a lot of $. This Bota owner is going for the cheap stuff from now on. If anyone wants me to test anything let me know. So far I mowed hauled dirt, used subsoiler on ditch, hauled logs, pushed down some trees. 3pt works smooth load or no load, fel stays up overnite and I saved a lot of money

Interesting!

Interesting indeed. I suppose the thicker fluid slows down the respose of the hydraulics to help remove the jerk. You should be fine with that in winter down Houston way.

Up here I use SUDT for the below zero days.

Glad to hear your tractor is all back and well again. I assume you have trimmed some limbs.:)

Very good information, what was the exact product name ? I see they have a TRAVELLER ALL SEASON HYDRAULIC FLUID and also a TAVELLER PREMIUM UNIVERSAL HYDRAULIC FLUID, which one did you use ? I've been wanting to change mine but couldn't find anything that listed Kubota on the specs. Thanks for sharing...

I am in Texas and have no need to use SUDT...I have always used the standard UDT weather it be Kubota brand or Mystik, I have never noticed any change in tractor operation.

I have no idea which fluid came with my L2800 but it got the valve change under warranty shortly after purchase in 05.

It's good that you got your tractor going again:)

Wow... thats quite a story.

I talked to a Kubota dealer here who said that after warranty expires they go with the cheap aftermarket hydraulic fluids in all their machines and customers machines and they have never seen any problems.

Will I go away from the Kubota stuff - probably not myself since my valve was replaced (after the inital economy tractor rhetoric). If I did have the issue though I sure as heck would try whatever stuff you've got in yours.

I find it easiest to stick with the recommended stuff myself so that I never have to second guess.... but who would have thunk that the after market stuff would make operation better!
