2005 Kubota L2800
I have about "Googled" myself to death. I am trying to find out the combined weight of my Kubota 4740, FEL and Shredder.

The Kubota site is pretty clear as to the weight of the 4740HST, but I'm drawing a blank on the other items. I really need to know the combined weight prior to ordering a new trailer for hauling the rig.

My answer is based on my machine it is a 1433 Massey, the loader is around 900lbs [i believe]. So yours is probably upwords of 1200-1300lbs. The shreader i am not sure about, but as an ie. my stumpgrinder and mower 84" bushhog is around 900lbs. each.
What ever you decide on for a trailer make sure it is MORE than strong enough. if your total weight say 6000lbs. get more than a 7000lbs. trailer if you don't you will get too much bounce.

I don't have the specs on your particular vehicle and attachments... however, here are the calculations I did, once upon a time, for my machine... it it helps...I discovered that there were quite a few components that go into the calculations... and very difficult to get weights... sometimes even there would be several weights attributed to the same equipment... your weights will be different from mine:D

1. Flatbed bumper hitch trailer, 18? hauls tractor/FEL/3PH attachment as needed. Manual winch at front, ramps pinned to sides and it is at its maximum load capacity for 2 xx lb axles. I haul tractor maybe 5 times a year else I壇 need a better set-up. Pay load trailer carry weight needed is:
a. 424 lbs measured 72 L2240 round back skid steer heavy duty bucket ( manual says 322 lbs). Specialist says shipping wt is 396 lbs, including 1嚢3 planks for shipping, but this does not compute.
b. 50 lbs quick attach, L2232A, best estimate from Kubota specialist.
c. 139 lbs measured John Deere toothbar. Note I don稚 have the optional edge, 45 lbs says Kubota specialist, because it is exclusive with the toothbar.
d. 206 lbs measured Kubota QA hay spike.
e. 52 LBS measured for long hay spike boom only.
f. 1157 lbs LA 853 FEL frame says manual (1186lbs is shipping wt. including grill guard, under tractor frame, no hyd fluid, no QAttach coupler, says specialist )
g. 15 lbs for 2 short pipes inserted into FEL QA pivot point crossbar.
h. 24 lbs for 2 short axles inserted into FEL QA pivot point crossbar. Long axles are 29 lbs for two.
i. 10 lbs front bumper, my estimate, I had welded on.
j. 80 lbs 1 front weight, measured.
k. 48 lbs for 2 round PVC pipes inserted into FEL large cross brace pipe for holding chain and 2 20 ft logging chains.
l. 100 lbs estimated additional on board load (chains, diesel = 7.1 lbs*10 gal, tools, etc.)
m. 4090 lbs (HSTC) from the manual: L 5030HSTC tractor, 4wd, cabin integrated ROPS. I guess this is distributed 40% front, 60% rear, thus 1636 lbs front, 2454 lbs rear. Plate under seat talking about ROPS says 4638 lbs reference weight, which Kubota specialist suspects means what the ROPS is qualified for, not weight of tractor. Shipping wt of HSTC tractor is 3540 lbs without tires or rims says specialist. I have been unable to get a better definition of what reference weight actually means.
n. 200 lbs, operator, measured
o. 1030 lbs rear tire fluids, 515lbs each, liquid filled, says manual.
p. 833 lbs 3PH hay fork + carry all + Pat痴 system + typical tool box load + 2 bolted in weights, measured
q. 593 lbs extra weight, (measured) (3*80 weights + (218 + 105 concrete weights + 30 bucket of rocks) on platform for heavy FEL load.

??? 8595 lbs total, unloaded bucket. 3485 lbs front, 5110 lbs rear = 40%, 60%. So, front tires are at 3485/2/3500 = 50% of max tire capacity. Rear tires are at 5110/2/4400 = 58% max tire capacity.

Thanks, guys. I've done some calculations with the information you all have provided, and it appears that a 7000lb trailer is not nearly enough. The weight of the tractor is around 7300lbs.

Just FYI, my 18 foot flatbed trailer is barely sufficient length to load tractor with FEL and rear implement... with FEL lifted over front of trailer rail. Other threads have discussed proper length of trailer.... concensus is that you need to be able to position vehicle such that tongue weight is not too heavy and load is balanced.... thus, if tractor and attachments must be crammed all the way forward on the trailer to prevent back overhang, there is no opportunity for load balancing.

Net... I bought a 20 foot dump trailer with STRONG ramps... I needed to both haul the trailer, equipment as well as gravel. The 20 foot dump trailer is overkill in many ways, but for sure it will haul my equipment and for sure it will haul whatever kind of stuff I wish to put in it, bulky brush, heavy gravel, tractor with long implement, whatever.

It sounds like you would do good with a 12K or a 14K trailer and get a long one

Called my trailer supplier this afternoon, and the one I"m going to need will run about $2500. The trailer will have 6' channel frame, new 16" tires, 2-7000lb axles (one with brakes) and prime treated flooring. This is not a "bad" price, just more than what I had budgeted to spend.

Don, that is a more than good price on that trailer, check the tires to make sure they will support 14K and in Fl. we need brakes on both axles. My trailer in my avatar has a 8" frame and it's a 14K trailer
how long is your trailer going to be? Mine is 25" I have other pictures in my gallery here

Keep in mind, if you get too large of a trailer, you may have to get a CDL to pull it.
