I have a BX23 and have misplaced the owners manual. I've never removed the mower deck, but would like to do so now. I remember that the procedure didn't seem to be involved when I first heard, but that's been a while and I don't remember the details.
Does anyone have a reference they can point me to, or give me instructions for properly removing the mower deck?

Steps to remove a MMM:

-Park BX23 on flat surface (make sure that you have about 6ft clearance on one side)
-Move the 3ph hydraulic lever forward to lower mower
-Stop the engine
-Lower the front lever and unhook the front link from the mower
-Detach the rear links (both right and left sides) from the mower
-Pull back on coupler to unlock universal joint and dismount it from BX23
-Roll the mower away from under the tractor

I had made this checklist for my boys to use. It is for a BX1850 but I suspect it is close to the same:

Mounting & Removing Kubota Mower Deck
- [ ] Attaching the mower deck
- [ ] Raise deck to highest position
- [ ] Stop engine & remove key
- [ ] Slide mower deck under the tractor
- [ ] Connect PTO shaft. Tug to ensure that it is locked
- [ ] Set cutting deck height to zero inch position
- [ ] Open L-pins on rear deck arms by pulling out and locking
- [ ] Start engine
- [ ] Lower deck to engage rear arms
- [ ] Stop engine & remove key
- [ ] Snap L-pins closed and ensure that they are locked
- [ ] Attach front link
- [ ] Start engine
- [ ] Raise deck
- [ ] Stop engine & remove key
- [ ] Turn anti-scalp wheels to forward and set cutting height

Removing the mower deck
- [ ] Raise deck to highest position
- [ ] Set cutting height to "TOP" position
- [ ] Stop engine and remove key
- [ ] Turn anti-scalp wheels sideways to allow deck to slide out
- [ ] Restart engine
- [ ] Raise deck to highest position and set cutting height to zero
- [ ] Lower deck fully
- [ ] Pull L-pins on rear arms to disengage
- [ ] Raise deck to allow rear arms to clear
- [ ] Stop engine & remove key
- [ ] Disconnect PTO shaft
- [ ] Disconnect front link
- [ ] Slide deck out from under tractor

Exactly what Willr said, and it takes about as long as it takes to read down the check list after you've done it and got familiar with it, piece of cake. I drop mine on blacktop or concrets and don't even bother to turn the anti scalp wheels, they slide on a smooth surface real easy.

The above suggestions should help. I've also read where some have backed the tractor onto a 2 x 8 board to give a little more clearance if that's a problem, although I'm not familiar with your particular setup. My problem is that I forget the steps to this music, even though I've done it several times.

Did the previous owner use these together? My question is whether the mower you have can even be mounted on this tractor. the 15BX would imply (to me) that it fits the BX1500. My BX2230 mounts the -22BX mower I believe, but the 2230 is not all that different from the 2200. I hope I'm wrong, but I fear I'm not.

My mower steps are the following:
Slide the collar back from the end of the driveshaft. Then slide the driveshaft onto the mid pto. Click the collar back in place to lock it onto the pto.
Attach the 2 lift arms to the brackets on the top of the mower.
Hook the front bracket over the hooks on the front of the mower.
Drop the support down and hook into this bracket, then flip it back up into place.

Probably not the best explanation one could get, but those are the basics on mine. Hope your mower fits!
