Seems like he was not the only one. This happened here today in Ireland.
BBC NEWS | Northern Ireland | Digger accident is investigated
Seems the digger was working on loose spoil at the top of an old quarry face cutting.
The spoil gave way and the digger and operator fell somewhere in the region of 75'
Not sure how its going to turn out.
