Replacing BX fan w/electric fan

Existing fan just might reverse. Worth a try with a quarter-inch ratchet. Put cardboard against radiator to protect fins. If it works, this would be elegant in its simplicity.

I think your "cookie sheet" would totally restrict airflow and overheat.

Playing devil's advocate...if you would go to the trouble to install microprocessor coolers, why not just put in the heater core...

Turning around a fan blade does not reverse the airflow. Reversing the slant just makes it turn out the same.

SORRY ive been away this week.Looking at your pics,your floorboard looks the same as the 23 ,except we dont have that plastic thing under the battery box.If you could remove that,id bet your metal floorboard under it comes out as ours does.If not Mabey you could design a freshair vent to feed in the battery compartment [after you plug the screen up to keep your air in your cab]so that the radiator has fresh air.In my opinion id go with one of these options before i started messing with fans.
Get some tools and take that battery compartment apart and see what you got .Cant tell by the pic what that plastic thing is,if all it does is hold up the battery box,a redesigned box is easy.

Paul,

I went the electric heater route and found it did not produce enough heat to keep me warm. In fact send me a PM and u can have the electric heater I used for the cost of shipping. I ended up going with a heater off the engine cooling system. That works great, I can snowblow with no jacket.

I was thinking about using the cookie sheet to restrict the flow to cause things to run hotter knowing that I was going to expel the heat inside the cab with the CPU coolers. Because of my assumptions with the coolant flow rates, I am basically using the CPU coolers as heater cores. I just like the mounting flexibility that comes with the CPU coolers. What is the normal in and out sizes for an automobile heater core? 5/8 or 3/4? I figure the main radiator would still provide some cooling (given the cold outside temps) with the two CPU coolers picking up the rest of the load. The main thing was that I did not want to be sucking all of the warm air our of the cab.

Honest to God I thought that was the case, but after starring at my own picture for 5 minutes, I talked myself into the idea that it would do what I wanted it to. If anyone wants to make some quick bucks, in my present condition it would not be hard to sell me a bridge or some swamp land!

Well if flipping it around would not work, what if I turned it upside down?

Heater cores can use both sizes, some even one of each.

I'm concerned that CPU water coolers may not provide enough heat transfer, given the variables of outside temp and engine loads. However, that black plastic under the battery looks like it might deflect some airflow under the tractor. If so, your "cookie sheet" on just the upper 2/3 would block airflow thru the cab and possibly still allow enough winter cooling. Worth investigating.
