Have anyone tried to reverse the HST dampener in effort to lessen the reverse head snapping ? In case for those who don't know what i meant, If you look underneath the BX24 and move the HST pedal
( with brake on of course and engine off for those who are with  the safety police) you can see the linkages is connected to a dampener similar to what you have on the back gate of your minivans or blazers doors. My thinking is it seems smoother movement using the forward pedal but the reverse seems to be a harder push. The last thing i want to do is to cause more problems if it wont work if someone has already tried this ?

never mind. it didnt work anyway. i called my kubota dealer and he said adjust the tension jam nut that is right next to the fan underneath. what a pain. mmm had to be removed, used a 12mm wrench to loosen the bottom nut then used fingers to move top nut up an inch and half ! then tighten every thing down and what an improvement on the hst pedal

So your saying it improved the reverse stopping to fast?
If so, I'm definitely going to have to try this. :)

It will affect both forward and reverse since the spring is used to pull the HST arm back into a neutral,..

thats correct jason, but the reverse seems much more controlable since my heel can control the reverse stop.:)

The reverse has always been worse because its on a shorter stroke than the front,..

On a side note,.. I sure wish they would make the hst pedal for people with small feet. You wouldn't believe how many customers I have ask me whats up with the size 14 pedal,.. lol

So you are seeing improvement on the reverse abrupt stop if I understand correctly. What change are you seeing on the forward? Are you trading one annoyance for another?

Funny. The previous generation of tractor had a single treadle with an above-deck pivot point. This forces your right foot up 3 or 4 inches under normal operation...I guess some would say this is uncomfortable, but I think it is great to be capable of switching between forward and reverse without any repositioning of my right foot.

I tried doing this on the newer machine and found it very difficult. I guess it's cool to have the pivot point under the deck, but something was really lost by not being able to just rock your foot back and forth...

Honestly, it was one of several things that made me buy the previous generation since I had the choice at the time I purchased.

Not that the new machine isn't a wonderful thing...many advantages. This is just one of those things that didn't really need to be "improved".

This is my question also.

FWIW, I only use the forward pedal on my 2350.. top side to go forward and the underside to go in reverse. It's quicker to switch directions plus I seem to have more control over the reverse-to-neutral transition.
