Backhoe BX24 Backhoe drooping when it sits a week

Will it droop while sitting in it's tripod position too? If so how would you get it back on if it sprawled itself out like a puppy with it's legs flat out.

YES it droops when stored. If you don't have room to let it stretch-out, you can place it on supports when dismounting. If you store your outriggers up, put bungees on them.

I put two jack stands under the mounting bar and CMU/wood blocks beneath the pivot, then curl the bucket in tight. Couple of bungees and the whole thing stays put. Would take a picture but it's mounted today.

Search on here and you will find designs for "dollies" that let you dismount the BH and roll it around.

just set it on the ground/floor. But if you do that,

1*shift to neutral
2* shift to low or high range as soon as motor starts.
3*raise mmm
4*raise staplizers
5*raise bh boom
6*center boom with tractor
7*raise dipper stick
8*curel bh buck up
9*raise fel
10* curl fel bucket up
11*Release parking brake.

If you follow this routine faithfully you won't be driving off with something down on the ground or floor.

Just connect the hydraulic lines to it as you normally would..... then gently move it to any position you need. It doesn't need to be pinned to the tractor to move...... just the hydraulics need to be connected. Just make sure you have a little bit of slack in the lines. Generally, they are made to be adjusted this way to get them lined up when mounting them to the tractor.

I realize you can hook up hoses while it's still detached (you have to, to get the thing on), but if it sprawled itself out I didn't think the hoses would reach.

There is plenty of slack in my hydraulic lines to move my backhoe a bit when its disconnected from my tractor. You'll just have to keep an eye on yours. It would be hard to imagine a backhoe would settle to where you couldn't hook up to it...... but i suppose its possible.

I was setting mine down when not using the tractor but after I almost drove off a few times with the BH down I find it safer for me to just pin up. Lucky for me my stabilzers don't droop....at least not yet.

Seems like my BX23's BH started drooping after about 20 hrs. This isn't much of an issue during the mowing season as it remains dismounted on a dollie the majority of the time. While on the dollie the stabilizers will start to droop after a while so I keep them up w/a bungee cord.
When the BH is on the tractor it'll noticably start drooping within a few hrs. So I normally pin mine up.
It's not unusual for the bucket and stabilizers to droop if it's set for a couple weeks and when this happens its a sign I need some seat time

I didn't hook mine up for maybe 6 months after I got the tractor. It laid-out totally flat where the salesman put it. A little slack and one viagra....
