Does doing this increase the lift capacity past the 1100# the la463 specs, or just get you up to the specs?

At the correct pressure it should get you to the advertised lift specs for the loader. I am not suggesting that you go beyond the specs. That would be your own choice.

If the hydraulic pressure relief is set to low as delivered from Kubota you will not have your full lifting potential with your loader. That was my complaint and why I changed it. I still have not gotten a chance to lift a heavy load yet to check out the difference. Brian

I put her to the test today after my pressure increase. I picked up a large round bale of grass hay from the feed store. No problem at all. Last one I could hardly get it out of the truck and now no problem.

Next I need to hit my gravel pile and see how that goes but I believe all is well.

This is almost as exciting as after the 3 pt. control valve was changed. These are great tractors when they are working properly. Now I don't need to shop for a larger tractor. Darn. Brian

A nice result for a small investment !

I must be missing something in this thread, I jumped on the band wagon too and went and bought me a pressure guage and plugged her into one of the loader valve QDs and got 2200psi and then I went and looked at my loader operators manual and it says the max pressure is 2347psi.

John Bud I see your attachment and it says it's 2347 - 2489 and the tractors are L3010-L4310.

Where is this 2450 - 2750??????

Wushaw, I am right in the middle of doing this...actually getting hydro fluid on my keyboard. I just checked mine and it was right at 2200. I added one #10 washer and it brought it to 2500 psi's.

I was just getting ready to add another washer, but after reading your post, I think I'll take a look at my manual first.

My L2800 L3400 Work Shop Manual indicates 2276 psi to 2347 psi as the range for the hydraulic system relief and my loader manual indicates 2347 psi as the max loader psi.

Ok Harvest Moon I since you have a WSM on hand for a L2800/3400 then aparrantly our LA463 loaders are actually maxed out at 2347.
Looks like I will not be adding any shims to my relief valve, increasing the actuator size maybe the safest way but not the cheapest.

I am glad I'm not the only one that saw these numbers not making any sense with the documentation that we have on hand.

John Bud; could it be that the L3010 - 4310 models had bigger loaders that also had higher pressures.

Wushaw, you caught it, I just double checked my reference after.

I'm not sure the loader is maxed out, The LA513 loader uses nearly all the same parts (identical part #'s) as the LA463. I've never come across the pressure spec. for the LA513 but it must be higher to do more work with the same parts.

That said, I think the LA513 fits the L3010 and if the L3010 max pressure is 2489 psi, then taking the L3400 142 psi past max might bring the LA463 up to LA513 lift capacity. Sounds too good to be true though.

I believe main differences between the LA463 and the LA513 are; the loader joy stick, the decals, the level indicator and probably the mount.

The 513 & the 724 listed max is 2560.
