Hi Folks,
To pass on the idea, just built a dolly for my BH, very simple, inexpensive and works great. Bought 4" wheels from HomeDepot, length is 48", width in the rear is 40", 16" in front, used hardwood boards to connect the ends. See attached.

Looks good. Simple but effective. Are the wheels a hard plastic or rubber? Have you noticed them flat spotting when left sitting in one place for a while? Does it seem stable side to side? It looks like it is only contacting in the center where the outriggers are. Maybe some shim blocks on the 4x4 towards the outside for stability? Curiuos? I definetly will be making something like this soon.

There were two type of 4" wheels at HomeDepot, I believe both were hard rubber, and I got the harder of the two ($12ea), and it does flatten some but not much, actually helps keep it in place. Could order harder casters at National Caster. It is fairly stable, trying to rock it side to side just makes the wheels move. I was expecting to put shims on the 4x4 or under the bucket to stabilize it, but there is no need. I just used hardwood boards to connect the ends only because I had them, 2 2x6s would work, would have to make the front wider to accomodate the width.

Very nice & simple

How heavy is the BH65 ? I have a BH90 and would like to build something similar.

Nice job SnowRidge.

I cheated and used an old pallet for my BH75. Just attached 4 - 300 lb capacity HF wheels. I do have a newer pallet I'll probably swap the wheels to in the spring, but I wanted to see how well the old pallet holds up with the backhoe on it over the winter.

If you want to use a pallet, try to find one that was used for stone or tile - they tend to be a bit heavier duty.

Realize this is an old thread, but wanted to thank you for posting it. I built a dolly for my bh65 tonight using your dimensions and a very similar design. It worked great!
