Seems to me that is some where over an hour just to let a little fluid out of the tranny and reroute the vent tube?? With pick up delievery, shop fees and the like, the bill was $157.00 for soemthing that probably took about 10 minutes.

You people can whine and cry all you want,.. but until you actually throw on some coveralls, grab a wrench and do the work you won't have a clue.

If you want to save money, EDUCATE YOURSELF, period! Buy a SM, read it, then you can reward yourself for FIXING your own equipment. Times are tough, rates are high, people need to make money, so as long as there is money out there, its going to be charged.

My shop rate is 1HR, MINIMUM, unless you know me, kind of you scratch my back,.. I scratch yours, then the deals can be worked out.

I am not a machinic by trade, but I have had my hand in many an engine/transmission. It is NOT tough OR time consuming to drain a little oil out of that transmission, nor to reroute the vent tube. I can understand a one hour minium, but I was charged more then that for a job that did NOT take that long. And oh...BTW....I was using it this morning and guess what.....it's STILL leaking oil. I told the service manageer where it was coming from and he apperantly elected to ignore that and assume it was coming from the vent because it was a little over full....at most, a 1/2 pint. So...bottom line is that I do not mind at all paying a fair price for soemthing to fixed, but when I am over charged to begin with and AND it's not fixed tu-boot....that gripes my a**.

Thats understandable, can you wash it off and find out exactly where it is leaking?

>People also can save money by washing off their own equipment first before dealer takes possession for repairs.
>Dropping off personal equipment is also cheaper,.. right now cause of the way fuel prices were/are, we went from .25c to .75cmi for service calls and also pickups and delivery, transporting new sales is free.

Yes...I cleaned it off the first time and told him exactly where it was leaking. After he "fixed" it he said he let it run for an hour in front of the shop and no leak...welll duhhhh...he wasen't putting any stress on it. He needed to use it to cut grass or pull or soemthing to raise the pressure enough for it TO leak....seems to me that a service center for Kubota should know that. This time I am leaving the oil on it and maybe HE can see where it's coming from.

hindsight is 20/20. it is possible that it took some looking around to find the hose. Same it may take some time to find a single loose wire connector. It looks easy on paper.

A BX1800 service with pick-up and del. should go for around $300.00. That includes all oils and filters.
